whentheheterosexualmajoritydoesntreproduce,primarilyduetobirthcontrol.Thusif
nonreproductivesexisaproblembecauseitdoesnotperpetuatethehumanrace,the
bulkoftheblamefallsonselfish,hedonisticstraightpeople.
Proponentsofmarriageforhomosexualsthinkthatheteronormativityissimplyasocial
construct,aconventionthatcanbechangedthroughlegislation,education,and
relentlessmediabrainwashing.Butheteronormativityisbasedinnature,notin
convention.Sexualreproductionhasexistedbeforehumanbeingsformedlanguages
andconventions.Indeed,sexualreproductionexistedbeforemankindevolved.The
birdsandthebeesdoittoo.Soheteronormativityisnotasocialconstructandcannot
bechangedbysociety.Itcanonlybecoveredup,liedabout,andignoredat
societysperil.
Itiseasytounderstandwhyhomosexualmarriageproponentsbelievetheyare
overturningheteronormativity.Itishardertounderstandwhytheopponentsof
homosexualmarriageagreewiththemonthispoint.Yettheopponentsofheterosexual
marriageclaimthatlegallydefiningmarriageastheunionofamanandawomanisthe
keytopreservingtheinstitutionsofmarriageandfamilylife.

Thismakesnosensefortworeasons.
First,ifheteronormativityisbasedinnatureordivinecommandment,notinlaw,thenit
cannotbechangedbychanginglaws.(Humanlawscan,ofcourse,strengthennatural

Second,theinstitutionsofmarriageandfamilylifehavebeenprettymuchdestroyed
already.Butduringthewholeperiodthatmarriageandfamilylifehavebeendecaying,
homosexualshavenotbeenallowedtomarry,andmarriagehasbeendefinedasa
unionofamanandawoman.Inotherwords,marriageandfamilylifehavedeclined
withtheirheteronormativityentirelyintact.Therefore,heterosexualsbeartheprimary
blameforthedeclineofmarriageandthefamily.
Sincehomosexualsareatinyminority,andonlyatinyminorityofthatminoritywishto
marryinanycase,Ithinkthathomosexualmarriageopponentsoweusanexplanation
astohow,exactly,suchasmallgroupofpeoplecouldmessupmarriageanymore
thanstraightpeoplealreadyhave.
Ifonereallywantedtodefendmarriageandstrengthenthefamily,oneshoulddothe
following.
