Safe Britannia is one of Prosafe's largest

semi-submersible accommodation vessel.
Capable cranes, large deck areas and generous
workshops and warehouse facilities makes
her ideal for offshore commissioning and
construction support. She can operate in all
geographical areas.
Arrangement
Safe Britannia was built at Gotaverken Arendal yard in 1980
to a Friede and Goldman design of enhanced Pacesetter type.
She was upgraded in 1987 with the addition of four stabilisation
columns, increasing the deckload area and payload capacity.
She underwent a major refurbishment in 2003. Safe Britannia
offers accommodation for 812 offshore personnel and provides
construction and logistics support. She is linked to the host
installation by a fully articulated, automated gangway and can
also function as an emergency temporary refuge.
Working Area
Safe Britannia has over 200m2 of workshop and covered
storage area, and an additional 380m2 laydown and storage
on deck. There are currently 20 workstations onboard. Workshop,
laydown areas and work stations vary according to client
requirements.
Station Keeping
The Safe Britannia has DP2 station keeping abilities and can
also deploy a 9-point wire mooring pattern, managed by a
POSMOOR thruster assisted online mooring system.
