I am using this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone who supported me
throughout the course of my POB (Principles of Business) SBA (School Base
assessment). I am thankful for their aspiring guidance, invaluably constructive
criticism and friendly advice during the project work. I am sincerely grateful to them
for sharing their truthful and illuminating views on a number of issues related to my
SBA. I express my warm thanks to Mr.Briceo for his support and guidance to finish
my SBA.I would also like to thank all the people who provided me with the facilities
being required and conductive conditions for my SBA project.

Description of the business

Haus of DVS is a sole trader business owned by Mr. Patrick Gabourel. The company would
provide all the latest styles and designer clothing that appeals to the trendy fashion market.
Designers like Gucci, Prada, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and much more. A True Loyalty
customer card will be available for customers who spend over $1,000.00, which gives them a 5%
discount on all future purchases. The company also does personal shopping and styling as an
additional service, for customers who may want a customized wardrobe. We also provide the
latest accessories in hand crafted leather, swaworski crystals and a wide variety of designer
shades, all at competitive prices.
The market that the company is focused on is the young professional and the socialite who is
interested in the current trends of fashion. Several plans are in place for reaching this market,
such as a heavy social media presence, constant advertising, and the dressing of local media
personalities with a huge emphasis on the companys branding. During our opening month, a
20% discount will be available store wide as an added incentive to the projected customers.
MISSION STATEMENT
to provide the most exclusive fashions at the most affordable cost. Customers will feel catered
too and special. We are the ultimate fashion experience.

JUSTIFICATION OF LOCATION
Haus of DVS, being a new business would have had to choose its location wisely.
We chose Belize Down Town Plaza as our flagship store, with plans to open in the following
year. Down town Plaza is location is in a highly popular and upper class neighborhood, with a
major ability to attract customers because of its unique shopping environment. The plaza is
surrounded by suburban housing developments, all major banks, supermarket, etc. This location
is suitable for the business because it has the required amount of space needed for the business.

Selection of appropriate labour

The production staff will have to be skilled workers who are both knowledgeable and trained
about the job which requires a lot of expertise and skills, also the supervisor who will inspect the
goods for quality control. The other staff members will be semi-skilled, there not required to
have the expertise, apprenticeship and skills associated with the production to be qualified for the
job.

Sources of fixed and working capital

Mr. Gabourel invested $150,000 to start his business. His barrow a loan of $1,000 for purchase
Designer Supply. He plan to return the loan by paying monthly fees of $250.
The fixed capital that he plan to have is the Sowing machine, cloth, Siccisors equipment that the
business will keep on using at a daily bases.

Role of Entrepreneur

An entrepreneur is a person who undertakes he risks involved in establishing and


running a new business. Entrepreneur is characterized by the role they play in
enterprise. An Entrepreneur gain is own profit and also can work the hours he
desired as long as the business task are done.

Type of Production
The type of production the business we will carry out is Secondary Production These industries
take raw materials obtained by the extracted industries and change them into products such as
fishing goods, office supplies etc.
Primary Production is the extraction of basic materials provided by nature, either above or
below the earth surface. The extractive industries are: Farming, Fishing and Mining. Without
these, production would not take place. Agriculture is an important primary production in the
Caribbean.
Secondary Production These industries take raw materials obtained by the extracted industries
and change them into products such as fishing goods, office supplies etc.
Tertiary Production These finished products must be transported, stored insured adverted and
sold by traders. This is what makes up the Tertiary Production

Levels of Production
MY Business will fall under Subsistence Production because is designed to provide the basic
needs of an individual or a family and its something that people need in daily bases.

Surplus or Export Level of Production is the production over and above the domestic needs of a
country and its features of mature and developed economies.
Subsistence Production is designed to provide the basic needs of an individual or a family. The
focus is on survival and persons just to manage to subsist.
Domestic Production is the type of production that uses the local inputs that are land, labor,
entrepreneurial skills and capital. It is also called local production.

Quality Control Measures


Some quality control measures that I will be using in my business is to make sure my clothing
line look professional every Spring summer of the collection making sure our costumer receive
the best quality. Our main task is to ensure our customers are satisfied with Haus of DVS
clothing line.

Uses of Technology

The technology equipment used in Haus of DVS are:

A/C will be used to keep the environment of the business worm and nice.

Computers will be used to keep track on email and updating the DVS webpage with the
latest style.

Telephones will be used to receive costumers order or any information they want to

Linkages
Forward Linkages
Refers to industries that are linked in such a way so that the finished product of one
becomes the raw material of another.
Backward Linkages
Is the interconnection of any industry to another industry from which it purchases its
inputs in order to produce its outputs.

My business will fall under backward linkages because it depend on the equipment used in
customer satisfaction. Backward linkage for more opportunity in employments.

Potential for Growth

Internal Expansion
Is the process of growing a business through the use of resources within the business and
not involving the use of any type of outside activities to solicit new customers? Growth of this
type may come about through handling customer referrals using in-house staff or making use
company resources to manage the internal financials of opening a new location or expanding
existing facilities.
External Expansion
Refers to business combination where two or more concerns combines and expands their
business activities.
The ownership and control of the combined concerns may be undertaken by a single agency.

Government Regulations

Haus of DVS will be registered at the Offices of the Registrar of Companies as a Business Name.
Statutory regulations taxes such as National Insurance Scheme, Income Tax, Property Tax, and
National Housing Trust will be paid to the government ministries. Environment guidelines set
out by National Environment Planning Agency (NEPA) will be followed for the disposal of toxic
waste from producing the products to protect the environment.

The business will adhered to the labour laws where each employee will be treated fairly, paid
salary for the 40 hours work, time and half thereafter, no discrimination, and given leave when
earned among other regulating laws. Without consumers there is no business, so the consumers
will be treated with respect, complaints followed up and solved, and quality customer service
maintained.

Ethical issues

Within the business of Haus of DVS sector employees are given a hand book, Rules and
Regulations Policy of the Business, misconduct, arrival and departure, attendance as well as
other guidelines to follow. Failure to these rules will result in the employee being warned
verbally and written, suspended without pay, or dismissal depending on the nature of the offence.
