If we define objects according to the Culture concept, we need to define,

CULTURAL OBJECT
Cultural object is an entity, which belongs to the real objects (culture of the
objects), but, additionally, they are universal, because of its ideal concept, for
example if you think about A weapon to kill, no matter if you are referring to
a gun, or a knive or a prehistoric spearr.

CULTURE OF THE OBJECTS


Culture of the objects is the result of grouping objects, (like taking a picture
from them), in a historic moment and a specific place, establishing
correspondences and relations with a Know how, specific technical skills,
manufacturing abilities and causalities of use, which justify its existence.

IDENTITY'S SIGNS AND TRAITS


The identity signs and traits, are the most significant details, which first
perceived at the time of contact with a specific cultural group; they become
very evident when we contrast, a stage, a protocol, attitudes and behaviors
with our own way of doing things.

Nature of the Identity Signs:

The nature of identity is multiple, includes such diverse aspects such as


language, customs, artistic, social, and even economic. The sign becomes a
tangible royal heritage of a given society. They are patrimony, because anytime
you can monetarize them, using them and getting a profit from them.

The exercise of observation as primordial act of design is a good method for


definition and detail of such heritage; is in the creatives ability to discover and
then use them to their own benefit.
We have probably heard expressions, which refer to X or Y object is faithful
representative of a specific culture; This is because the designer at the time
knew identify certain features of it, and instrumentalizing in its design.
INTERCULTURAL FROM A MIGRATION AND ABSTRACTION CONCEPTUALINSPIRATIONAL PROCESS
Interculturalism describes the interaction, the exchange between two or more
cultures, in a respectful, horizontal, inclusive and "synergistic" way. And from
these multiple relationships are generated new realities, and every culture
reinvents itself in the process.
In a simple way it would be:
Inspiration - Abstraction - Conceptualization - Create / DESIGN
1. Study to identify what makes us individuals, and to achieve that
searched distinction.
2. There may be different levels of identity, according to depth and the
proposed scope, where we want to go?
3. Target Customer: What are our hidden intentions ?, what do we want to
achieve with our products?, what effects we desire will be generated in
the interaction with our object and the user ?.
The "FOUNDATION PROMISES" of design with identity (Lets say Inspirational):

1. Designers have the responsibility to rethink and reflect about the


environment, affecting cultural objects and their interaction with humans
in each historical period corresponding to them.
2. The Designer has to be the best reader of social and human needs, and
shall include in its projects to the human being and his innate desire to
transcend.
3. The Designer must combat the lack of identity: the absence of the
essence of being and belonging, has turned humans into inconsequential
and slaves, prisoners of their own environment.
4. Another of the key aspects in the designer's role is to be a sensor and
"updater" of traits, signs, and all sorts of phenomena and cultural
elements to implement them through a creative process and include
them in the production of con-temporary objects
PROJECTUAL KEYS
1. To Contain and Communicating Values: Products must contain and
communicate values, customs and beliefs of the culture of origin
(Colombiana), looking through the use to generate a style of life
closer to the needs of cultural identity that clients are looking for.
2. Reencounter with the Essence of Ourselves: We talk about a deep
inner, intimate and private dialogue; product design must allow the
person into a state of inspiration and silence, that time can listen to
their interior.
3. Recreate spaces with elements borrowed from nature and
elementals: Favoring activities of contemplation and drawing on
elementals in nature (air, fire, water, earth), allowing stimulation of
the senses, the renewal of forces, the enjoyment of touch, taste, etc.
4. Reconstructing the Social Being: Products should be partners to help
dreaming, to revive myths, legends and cosmogonies, promoting
gambling, partying, etc.
5. Look at ourselves from outside to recognize from within: This keeps
intimate relationship with the study and analysis of the state of the
art, it is important to know how things are made outside to compare
with as we are made within; hopefully, an experiential immersion and
analysis would be desirable.
6. Formulation and Standardization: Recognize, define, catalog, specify,
test and develop, fact sheets about our materials, which provide
identity, enabling products go to other markets, with designation of
origin, and design quality and competitiveness.
7. Cultural Oversight: You must make a careful observation of our
culture, its pulse, to be part of, to experience it, to live it.
8. Innovate and think about new ways to design, business and
production: Get away from some of the assumptions of the classical
market, mass production, for example the "Critical mass" to

determinate a bussiness viability, to incorporate a little more,


feelings, experience, faith and our essence.
