Job Responsibilities
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
The job title, CEO (Chief Executive Officer, refers to the head of an organization as
in the person who presides over or is in charge of an organization. The Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) is the highest ranking executive manager in a corporation or
organization. The CEO has specific responsibilities depending on the needs of his or
her organization. The job description of a CEO varies by organization.
The CEO reports to the Board of Directors or in some non-profit settings, such
as state government, the CEO may be the head of an agency or department and
report to the office of the governor. The CEO may also own the business, and may
have founded the business, so his or her commitment to the business is significant.
In these cases, a Board of Directors may exist, but its authority is nominal and
advisory.
Whether the top person is president and CEO, or just CEO, he or she is the
top person in command in an organization and has specific responsibilities
depending on the needs of his or her organization.
Thus, the CEO's job responsibilities can vary from organization to
organization. As with any level of management in an organization, the CEO's role
starts with the fundamental job responsibilities of a manager. Because the role of the
CEO bears significant responsibility, accountability, and authority within an
organization, the CEO has these additional responsibilities.
Marketing Manager
Marketing managers or officers are focused mainly on the practical application and
management of an organization's marketing operations. For marketing managers to
be efficient and effective in performing their functions, they should have excellent
communication and analytical skills. In small organizations, the marketing manager
is in charge of the organization's entire marketing activities and therefore handles
formulating, directing and coordinating marketing activities so as to influence
customers to choose the organization's products over those of competitors.

Financial Manager
The role of the financial manager, particularly in business, is changing in response to
technological advances that have significantly reduced the amount of time it takes to
produce financial reports. Financial managers main responsibility used to be
monitoring a companys finances, but they now do more data analysis and advice
senior managers on ideas to maximize profits. They often work on teams, acting as
business advisors to top executives. Financial managers typically do the following:
Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts
Monitor financial details to ensure that legal requirements are met
Supervise employees who do financial reporting and budgeting
Review company financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs
Analyse market trends to find opportunities for expansion or for acquiring
other companies
Help management make financial decisions
Human Resources Manager
A Human Resources generalist, manager, or director plays a wide variety of roles in
organizations. Depending on the size of the organization, these HR jobs may have
overlapping responsibilities. In larger organizations, the HR generalist, manager, and
director have clearly defined, separated roles in HR management.
These roles bring progressively more authority and responsibility in the hands
of the manager, then the director, and ultimately, the Vice President who may lead
several departments including administration.
HR directors, and occasionally HR managers, may head up several different
departments that are each led by functional or specialized HR staff such as the
training manager, the compensation manager, or the recruiting manager. Human
Resources staff members are advocates for both the company and the people who
work in the company. Consequently, a good HR professional performs a constant
balancing act to meet both needs successfully.

Information Technology Service

An information technology (IT) assistant is responsible for providing general
information technology services and direct support to computer users. A person who
does this job may have quite diverse daily tasks. He or she may sometimes be
required to work abnormal hours, including early morning, overnight, and weekend
shifts, based on the employer's needs.
In an average day, an IT assistant may generate support tickets for pending
services, monitor networked equipment, perform regular technology maintenance
duties, and research possible technologies for department purchases. He or she can
also expect to contribute operational policies and organize files related to IT
department operations. Complex configuration tasks are likely to be performed, too,
albeit under the guidance of supervisors.
This job is possibly one of the most hands-on positions in an IT department
because of the wide range of support services it offers to other members of the
organization. In most cases, the person's job description will include duties beyond
remote technical support. Many organization-specific user manuals and training
seminars are the responsibility of this individual, and he or she may be required to
prepare written guidelines for other employees and run workshops.
