Internship experience in the KMSIUC Helped me to fulfill the repuirements of

MBA KMSIUC was a worthwhile experience and the exposure of such an organization

At last I must mention the wonderful working environment and group
commitment of college that has enable me a lot deal to do and observe the
college activities during my internship period of three months. Finally I
convey my sincere thanks to my friends who inspire in different ways to
complete the report and the course as well.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The report presents a practical exposure on college activities under the MBA (Evening)
program. KMSIUC starts it operation on April 6,1996. it is plays vital role to contribute
on Education in Bangladesh.

Education System in Bangladesh

The education system and structure of Bangladesh constitutes of three major stagesprimary, secondary and higher education. Primary education is a 5-year cycle while
secondary education is a 7- year one with three sub-stages: 3 years of junior secondary, 2
years of secondary and 2 years of higher secondary.Private primary and secondary
schools also receive strong financial support from the state.Tertiary education (3-5 years)
is provided through universities (36 public and 79 private universities) and affiliated
colleges under supervision of University Grants Commission. Establishment of private
universities has gained momentum in recent years. At all levels, students can choose the
medium of education Bangla or English.
The Ministry of Education is the supreme state office for education which again is
subdivided in different directorates for each level while running numerous development
projects.According to the article 17 of the Constitution, all children of Bangladesh are to
receive full free education up to secondary level. Secondary and higher secondary
schools are affiliated under ten (10) education boards. The boards administer three public
examinations - Junior School Certificate (JSC), Secondary School Certificate (SSC)
and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) . The higher secondary schools are known
as colleges. There are also Madrasah(religious)and English medium schools which are
enrolled under Madrasah Education Board and Foreign Education Board respectively.
Besides this, a Technical Education Board has been established to administer the
vocational training schools at post secondary level in Education Board. The National
Curriculam and Textbook Board is mandated to develop, approve and manage the
curriculum and text books for primary, junior, secondary and higher secondary level.
TheBangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics (BANBEIS) maintains
educational information at all levels. Bangladesh Government has published an
Education Policy which is developed based on the inputs taken from different education
commissions over the years. There are also many non-profit organizations which operate
informal and semi-formal education for underprivileged children under supervision of the
Bureau of Non-formal Education.

BANBEIS - Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics

Background:
Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information & Statistics (BANBEIS) is a central
depository of Bangladesh government for the collection, dissemination and provider to all
stakeholders. It started its activities as an attached department of Ministry of Education.
Vision:
To build quality and standard education statistics, to contribute for the development of
education sector as well as national development through data management of education.
Mission:

To ensure current data through collection of data and prepare database.

To maintain information flow through preparing and providing demand based
information
To find the indicators by estimating of Millennium Development Goals setting
indicators.
To help to reduce poverty through scaling inputs in education against poverty.
To develop educational management level incorporating ICT education through
giving training on ICT

Scope of Activities

In national level, BANBEIS is responsible for the collection, dissemination,

documentation and publishing of educational information.
It conducts National Education Survey (NES), Sample Education Survey (SES) of
post-primary education (PPE).
To perform different research on education
To Provide educational information to the stakeholders, researcher of national and
international, or the national and international organizations
It acts as a National Documentation Center for Education.

To maintain a library enriched with national and international journals, periodicals,

encyclopedia and research papers.
To establish and maintain database on educational institutes and its teachers, and
GIS school mapping
As an excellent training center with the help of BKITCE, it helps to develop
human resources by giving training on ICT.

Organizational Characteristics

Professionally managed organization

It has a statistics division, documentation, library and publication division,
computer unit and administrative unit.
23 professionals (statistician, ICT specialist, researcher and library and
documentation specialist).
Own 5-storied building with space 60000 sq.ft
5-modern computer laboratory (computer: 110 and 5 multimedia projectors etc.)
A modern library with 25 thousands books and above one hundred journals and
periodicals.
An education documentation center

The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh is the statutory apex body in
the field of higher education in Bangladesh. The primary objectives of the UGC are to
supervise, maintain, promote and coordinate university education. It is also responsible
for maintaining standard and quality in all the public and private universities in
Bangladesh. The UGC assesses the needs of the public universities in terms of funding
and advise Government in various issues related to higher education in Bangladesh.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh was established under the
Presidents Order (P.O.) No. 10 of 1973 which was deemed to have come into force with
effect from 16 December 1972.
As the statutory apex body in the field of University Education in Bangladesh, the vision
of the UGC is to enhance and strengthen the quality of Higher Education. The standards
of teaching and research in public and private universities in the country are the main
concern. It also aims to bringing in qualitative improvement in the governance and
management of the universities by establishing academic discipline, financial
accountability and transparency. To ensure high quality education in the public and
private universities, keeping in view the needs and aspirations of the people and the
society.

To develop the universities as centers of excellence which in turn will produce

trained and skilled manpower capable of resolving socio-economic problems and
contribute in economic progress and prosperity of the country.

To organize and motivate the universities to act as change agent so that they can
create new frontiers of knowledge through demand-driven and innovative
research to cope with the rapidly changing globalized society.
To assess the financial needs of the universities and formulate and implement
plans and programs for proper and appropriate development of the universities.
To foster national, regional and international linkages and collaboration in the
field of teaching, learning and to ensure exchange of knowledge, and research.
To help the universities in staff development, student mobility etc.

National Academy for Primary Education is the apex institution for training, research, academic
supervision and educational management of primary education in Bangladesh.

It was founded in 1978 and named Academy for Fundamental Education and was renamed in 1985 as
National Academy for Primary Education. It has been functioning as an autonomous body since 1st
October 2004.

Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) will provide certificates to the

learners of UNION DIGITAL CENTER training centres.
Each UNION DIGITAL CENTER will strive to be financially and socially

Foundation Background: It is moral duty and responsibility of every family, community
and welfare of man to save and preserve the individuality and national inertest. Since our
country is poor and full of problems, Kazi Mohammed Shafiqul Islam Foundation is
established for the welfare of society, country.
The aim of Kazi Mohammed Shafiqul Islam Foundation: All activities will be operated
by government, concerned authority to materialize the following objectives.
To develop the socio-economic condition of the village, a decision has taken to
materialized by the authority to the following objectives:

cloths to the helpless.
Education and educational institutions: Education donates all human welfare. Such
as traditional, vocational, agricultural , engineering, medical, scientific, legal studies etc.
Culture: To develop rural cultural activities such as Kabigan, Rakhalia, Sarri, Jarri, Aaul,
Boul, Jatra, Puthipath.
Medical: To take necessaries steps to materialize the available medical facilities. Its main
objectives is to found hospital, clinic, charitable dispensary, maternity, diabetic center etc.
Entertainment: Entertainment pleases all human entities. To found public library, park,
musical centre, gym club, theatre and their management etc.
Shelter: To give shelter to the shelter less. To establish rehabilitation center.
Service: To serve the people financially in accordance with constitutional regulation. To
keep marring off the poor families, giving shelter to shelter less.
