Who would be the audience for my

media product?
When me and Rose began to plan for our short media production , we first
had to think about who are target audience would be for the genre of our film.
After we made a final decision of our film being a 'Horror Genre', we then
turned to the British board of classification , where we followed several
guidelines to help give us an idea to which age group we should be aiming
our film towards. Firstly we had to take a look at what type of content was
included in this film this was mainly based on the main situation to what was
happening in the film and also the nature of violence. Throughout the film
there is a strong threat of horror that is implicated by the murder that occurs
in the house.
Because of the two main characters that are involved with this are
adolescents, we had to be sure to consider that there was nothing in our short
film that we would consider of a risk that any other teenager could copy and
do causing potential harm to themselves.
One of the main reasons for why we have used such young actresses, is
because we think that they have the right mindset to be wanting to break in
and explore the house.
We also only stereotypically relate the idea of a house being broke into or
mischievous behaviour to do with the minds of the young ones , due to raging
hormones and bad examples being set by many other teenagers leading
many others astray. In addition to this , we have given our film a certificate
age rating of 15+ , the reason for this is because of the storyline that we have
created for out film . We feel as if the storyline is simply not complex enough
for any persons under the age of 15 to understand due to the supernatural
experiences that occur throughout and fear factor that develops from it.
To justify just how frightening and in-complex some of the scenes can be , I
have taken the time to include some screen shots from my short film
production to represent what effect it could have upon my targeted audience.

Description
In this up-close scene featured at
the beginning of our film , we
focus on one of the teenagers
breaking into the house , with the
focal point of this scene being
the sharp object at hand used to
try and force entry into the
property. The object being so
sharp itself , conveys that the
youth does not care about the
damage it causes to the outside
when breaking in stereotypically
convey how the adolescent does
not care and will doing anything
within their midst to break into
the house.
In this medium shot , we capture
the precise moment for when a
supernatural presence is using
its force to make the wooden box
( featured in the background )
move. This is a prime example
for why we have rated this film a
15+, as no persons younger then
this age would fully understand
to why and how the box begins
to shake frantically by itself. This
in affect creates an unnerving
feeling within the audience, also
conveying a warning or danger to
what lies ahead.
In this medium shot , we now see
the two adolescent about to
explore deeper into the house
just after breaking and entering
into it. Both characters are
slightly out of focus , as most of
our attention Is brought up upon
the loose cables featured in the
centre third of the screen. This
could convey the danger
physically of the house where
loose electrical wires my hang
from ceiling causing a hazard to
anyone that may pass it. We
would only typically expect an
adult to be near an object such
as this , yet because of the
characters ages they now
countertype this idea due to their
navety, they would not dully
understand the dangers and
consequences of this therefore
they choose to ignore it.
