Dear Jennifer:

What a lovely name! Myson Corie and his Brazilian wife Suzi still live in
Cuiaba and work with the our (Christ's) church there. They are expecting
and the little one that will be showing her face in March is also blessed
with that same beautiful name.

Yes, we are doing missionarywork (rTGr^t Britian^urrentlyand for the

last three years we have been located her In Swarisea, Wales. We are doing
a work with overseas tudents, especially targeting graduate student
couples. We have been spending a great deal of time with local churches,
making them aware of the mission field at their doorstep and the need that
they have to open their doors and hearts to those strangers in their land,
who are the "movers and shakers" in their own nations. The Christian

students are in a very key position to evangelize other leaders from many
nations, however they can only accomplish this task ifthey are rootede in
a local church and have the love and backing of, at least, a portion of the
folk from that church.

We have been targeting the leadership of the churches, recognizing that

without their confidence and support of this vision we will get nowhere.
Many have opened up and are releasing interested folk from their
congergations to get involved and help keep their congregations informed
and involved in outreach to overseas students.

We see our work in Swansea as a model for the UK and we see ourselves

turning over this work to local folk and moving into another university
city in the next couple of years. We believe that the functioning model In
Swansea will help to accelerate the future implantation of similar works in
other places. There are already a number of ministries that target
students functioning with varying degrees of success in the UK, however,
very little is being done, in most universitycities, to reach, integrate,
disciple and return overseas folk as effetive leaders, to bless and speed
the growt of Christ's church in their nations.

Summer, 1998
Dear Friends of Bunches to the Nations:

In our "Spring Prayerletter", for those not yet blessed with

electronic-mail, we mentioned Sandy's Mom. Loretta, needed heart surgery.
We have written a book on that subject. The "blow-by-blow" of how, amidst
the confusion and tragedy, and in the same hospital with victims of the
"Thurston shooting spree", that servant of God went home to be with the
Lord and then "came back"! 1even wrote a eulogy of her precious life,
when Ireceived word she was "brain-dead", with no lung, kidney or heart
function, and they were pulling the plug on her life-support. In keeping
with the role of Mother-in-law, she's accused me of being "brain-dead", a
fewtimes! Of course, that's not why Imarried her daughter!! Seriously,
God did some awesome stuff and that lovely lady is up and around now!
Praise the Lord! Sandy's Dad Is also doing well and making steady progress
(walking with a brace and volunteering more words) in recovery from last
years stroke. Stan's happy as a clam to have his lover, of over 50 years,
back at his side! PTL!

We plan to leave for 30 days in Brazil on September first. We must

renew our permanent visa's that will expire in October. Every two years
we have to get back over there. We believe that it is essential that we
keep our visa's up to date. We know how invaluable they are, and recognize
that the precious linkwe have with the Brazilian churches, must be
nourished.

Our 21 years of "sowing, watering and reaping" in that country have

JAMES BUNCH, 07:01 AM 10/29/98, Message from Internet

helped produce the revival climate of today, where 7,000 new believers come
to Christ and 70 new churches are planted every day. 50% of Brazil's
population are expected to be "bom again" by the end of next year! Brazil
is now the second largest sender of missionaries in the world! Praise God!
It is also important that we spend time with our church in Cuiaba and
it's area leadership. We need to visit other churches in several parts of
Brazil, to encourage them and to look for further ways of cooperating in
this global ministry. Let's face it, we just love to help "fan the flames"!
We are also looking forward to having some time with Corey, his lovely
Brazilian wife Suzi, and especially to invest in our Brazilian son,
Jonathan.

Early in July, Corey called at Sam and surprised us with the "good
news" of Suzi's pregnancy and the "bad news", that his brother was dealing
with a drug problem and was voluntarily seeking treatment.
We now have word from Uberlandia, that Jonathan is "stili" in SER

(Servico Evangelico de Recuperacao), a Christian recuperation center. We

believe that the bad news is really good, "All things...for good" Romans
8:28, and that this will become a blessing, since many Christian Servants
we know, including Francisco, our fellow pastor of several years in Cuiaba,
were "transformed" in that place. We must pray that he stays put "in the
hands of the potter" Isaiah 64:8. Jonathan can receive no visitors until
the middle of September (we will be his first), but they have given him the
letter we sent.

Excerpt follows:

Dear Jonathan: "We love you and want more than anything that 'the real
Jonathan' will surface completely, as the 'real' brilliance and sparkle of
a diamond is only revealed when it is struck over and over again by the
skilled hand of the 'lapidador* (cutter). The growth process is never
without a bit of pain. None of us like being uncomfortable, yet growth
only occurs when we are s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d!
We believe that God is going to give you the strength and perseverance,
'stick-to-it-ivity' to tough this one out, through the whole nine months,
and come out the other side, a complete person in everyway, one who merits
honor and respect. We know that you already have 'God's Prophetic Word'
upon your life, and that He will be faithful to provide everything you need
to help you make the right choices and come through the pressures of the
moment. We know that He is able to help you 'do all things'!

JAMES BUNCH, 07:01 AM 10/29/98, Message from Internet

Youare going to be spending a lotof time in your Bible, Youwill know it

better than Daddy, when you complete your time at SER. It will truly
become 'a light and a lamp' for you in the years ahead.

Mom and Iare really proud of you and your decision to go to Uberlandia and
become a part of SER."

We heard of Jonathan's going into the nine month SER program and
Suzi's pregnancy at the same time. Corey and Suzi plan to give us a
Brazilian grandchild! The two babies should be ready for delivery in the
spring (their Autumn)! Along with a healthy grandbaby, we expect to see a
spirit-filled child of God emerging from SER, to become a powerful
instrument in the hand of His Lord! Praise Him for new birth!

We plan to return to Swansea on October 2nd. The 15th is the

official campus "overseas" reception. We plan to have folkfrom many
churches participating and making connection with future leaders of the
nations.

The Lord continues to strengthen the International Student Christian

Network. We praise the Lord for the several local folk, who have become
involved, thus becoming "links" to their various churches. Much of our
time this summer has been spent in organizing gatherings. We had 32,44
and 23 out on three consecutive Saturdays, and 37 more shared food,
fellowship and a walk to the sea, this afternoon (29 Sept.). During the
week, we have continued to cultivate relationships by having local pastors
and their families (it's summer!), along for meals and beach walks. We
have continued to organize overseas group visits to area churches, where
they can preach, sing, testify and challenge to broader ISCNetworking.
Tomorrow we will have about 17 of us challenging the combined Parklands and
Woodlands Evangelical Churches.
Monday evening was very special. Close to thirty gathered at
Augustine and Grace's new home, to lift up the Lord, intercede for the
ISCN, confirm the Ankomahs in their home and ministry, send off the
outgoing students, prepare the way for the oncoming students, share in
fellowship with "greater Vivian House" students and both local and overseas
student representatives of the, at least, 10 different area fellowships,
and as many nations, represented. Grace prepared a wonderful banquet for
our little"multitude"!) Praise the Lord! Augustine indicated that we may
soon be blessed with monthly "all night' prayer vigils! The local and

overseas "Prayer Warriors", will have their chance to "really" touch the
heart of God! AMEN! [Bythe way, be praying about the continuation of
dynamic Bible study groups like Vivian House. 100% Ofthe students who
have formed that group will leave before the end of the year. Pray they
can pass the baton and that several other groups will be formed]
We were grateful to have Hmar Shankuma, who has come, with his wife
Rene and four children from NE India (we took them for a walk to "three
cliffs" and the children had never been on a beach! Wow! They loved it!),
where revival is going on, to serve God and churches in South Wales, share
a bit about the vision that has brought him here. Ten of us, mostly
overseas students, road to the fellowship-prayer meeting in Shankuma's
mini-van! PTL! Welsh, English, Portuguese speaker, Caleb Price, who, with
his West Indian (Barbados) wife Eve, has returned to spiritual service of
the King of Kings, in Wales, also challenged the group with the
ramifications of God's call on their lives.

Both Shankuma and Caleb and

their families want to be a part of, what God is doing here between the
churches and the overseas student community. Amen!
Pray for our friend Prince, from Ghana. He was hospitalized with an
erratic heart and they were going to have to install a pacemaker. We have
been praying for healing and he has been released under observation. We
believe for his complete healing. This man really loves the Lord and shares
his faith with everyone! Lord willing, he will testily tomorrow at
Parklands!

A weekly "ISCN Prayer Bulletin" is being produced and e-mailed to over

twenty campus "prayer warriors". The Wednesday afternoon Campus Chapel
prayer meetings also are an continuous blessing and source of spiritual
strength.
There is a battle between "the light" and "darkness", for the hearts
of the overseas students. Our Christian Indonesian, Ph.D. candidate
friend, writes about our time with an Austrian agnostic, he brought, and 31
others from the "greater" Vivian House Bible study group: [Ofcourse, his
Ph.D. is not in English, but Engineering. Remember, this is informal
e-mail!]!

"Dear jim and sandy: yes Anna told me she really enjoy and feel that you
and sandy have a good care of us and of britain (want to come far away just
to mission, she said) [come all this way as missionaries]
anyway, Iknow that Bihai people already invite her to their place six

and to make you not too busy we can (maybe, sorry Ijust propose) circle

people/couple/family from here) such as Dr Aird or some familyffom your
church or Pastor Stanley church ???
So briliant 11, thank you very much jim-sandy II

Wilham"

You can see that Wilham is enthusiastic to see this ministry spread
out among the churches. We praise the Lord that this is happeningi Please
pray for the Christians in his strife-torn country of hdonesial We pray
that Wilham and others like him, will return home to be used of God, for
the blessing of their nations.

We will get back to you "snail-mailers", probably, in late November,

to bring you up to date on what God is doing in His church, and has done
with us and our kids in Brazil. We know that we will have some exciting
tales and also some more terrific news of the Overseas work here in the UKI

If you have a friend with e-mail possibilities, give them our CompuServe
address from the letterhead and have them drop us a note, asking for a
"free" subscription to the "Bunches to the Nations - Brazil and Beyond",

Dear Friends and Power Prayer Partners:

"The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and
forevermore." Psalms 121:6 NRSV

Yes, He is truly marvelous! We are back in wonderful Wales! The Lord

guided our steps throughout our Brazilian trip. The principle task of
renewing our visa and getting our new Brazilian ID cards from the Federal
Police, was accomplished.
We also were greatly blessed by many precious brothers and sisters in
Christ and believe that God used us as a channel for blessing, as Sandy and
Ivisited and challenged several churches. We also spent firuitful time
with Corey and Suzi in Cuiaba and helped them with a "hot & sweaty" move

Into another house. The Lord also provided for some very qualitytime
with Jonathan in Uberlandia, which involved a 32 hour round-trip by bus

from Culaba. Thank you for your prayers on behalf of his recuperation and
regeneration. He's still "hanging in there" and we trust that the Lord is
lifting him up and will greatly use his life.
While in Brazil, we believe that many of the contacts we made have helped
produce another level of vision for overseas outreach by the Brazilian
church. We look forward to seeing more graduate students from Brazilian
churches and universities, coming along to join us in the battle for the
hearts of those who will lead the nations.

God has been leading here in Swansea in the establishing of an

International Choir. We trust this will become a great platform of
ministry for many overseas folk. Sandy and Ihave been helping in the
recruiting. The last weekend of this month, the Int. Choir and several of
our overseas evangelists will be joining with local churches in outdoor
evangelism in the center of Swansea. We believe this will just be the
beginning of another powerful tool for touching the heart of the city with
the love of Christ. With Swansea's over 8,000 Muslims and myriad of other
sects and isms, we will literallybe sowing the powerful gospel message in
the midst of the worldwide pagan presence.

One finishing overseas student said that he couldn't believe he was leaving
Swansea, just when so many, previously impenetrable doors were opening to
Internationals, for productive Christian service. We praise the Lord that
those arriving will be able to find immediate involvement and release to be
God's instruments, to bring the lightof Christ to the nation's leaders
gathered in this place.

We also had 30 of us (several brand new contacts, both Christians & "not
yets") at our place last weekend and have an open invitationfor all
interested overseas students to come along this Saturday.
On Tuesday afternoons we've been meeting in the university chapel for
prayer with several overseas students. A number of them
are just new on campus and they are all beautiful Christians. We are
excited to get them rooted in local churches and mobilized to evangelize
their colleagues from the nations!

Tomorrow night (Oct. 17th) is the annual Autumn Overseas Reception. We

hope to meet many new students, and are especially looking forward to
finding graduate student couples. We will have several churches

represented in extending invitations for fellowship to the students. Many

will receive invitationsto join us at our home on Saturday.

We invite your prayers for the ISCN, Church Reps "Prayer & Share" meeting
scheduled at our home on Monday evening, the 19th. The ISCN is also
sponsoring intemational student prayer & Bible studies on the university
campus. A local church wrote in their monthly publication: "The
Intemational Student Christian Network, started by Jim & Sandy Bunch,
provides a forum for prayer and fellowship as more and more people are
getting involved with overseas students. As a church we have an input into
ISCN and this provides a means of encouragement and support as we continue
to see the intemational dimension to God's work in Swansea."

Thank you for your uplifting love and prayers I

Yours in His {{{Earth-Shaking}}} Love,
