1 Introduction to CMC
This document describes the way in which BO Power user or BO Administrator of TATA SKY can
interact with the BO CMC Application to do Administration of BO.
It is a web based tool which allows users to remotely control the entire Business
Objects Enterprise system.
Allows to perform user & server management tasks, publish as well as organize
objects.
Through the CMC, administrators can define the overall security model and define
access rights
2 Getting Started
The URL (http://<Server IP>:8080/CmcApp/logon.faces) is created for the SAP BO User
Interface to access the CMC.
2.1 BO CMC
The user can login to the CMC application using the specific user identification and
Password at the URL mentioned above. After successful login the user is permitted to do
admin activities of BO.
2.2 Logging In
When the user accesses the URL mentioned, the BO CMC screen appears.

applications.
o Everyone Members are allowed to access all the reports found in
Report Samples folder.
o Universe Designer users Members are allowed access to the Designer
application.
o BOE NT Users Members are allowed to view folders & reports.

Tip : If you think user may need account in future, disable rather than delete.
Step 1 : Right Click on User Name and Select Delete option.

Voyager Connection
4.1 To create a new connection object in the CMC
1. Log on to the Central Management Console.
2. In the Organize area in the CMC, select Voyager Connections.
3. Click New Connection.

6. Enter the provider-specific connection properties, such as the server name, and
click Connect.
7. Enter your credentials and click OK.

8. In the Cube Browser, locate the cube you want to use for this connection,
and then click Select.

When this type is selected for the connection, the end user will be
prompted with a dialog box to enter his username and password when
the Voyager application initiates the connection.

With the single sign-on option selected, the user signs on once to the
InfoView application with his credentials, and then is able to connect to
the back-end servers in Voyager without having to enter the username
and password again. The Voyager application (through the MDAS
Server) automatically retrieves the credentials from the current
InfoView session and passes them to the server. Voyager application
initiates the connection.

3. Select the connection that you want to edit, and click Edit Connection.
Note: If you do not have "Add objects to the folder" permission in the
Business Objects Enterprise system, you cannot edit a connection, and the
Edit Connection button is unavailable.

4. You can now change the contents of any of the fields to reconfigure your OLAP
cube connection.
5. Click Save to save the new connection settings.

4. From the menu, select Manage > Delete. Alternatively, you can right-click the
connection and select Manage >Delete.
