GAMES FOR GROUPS

1) VOLLEY BALL: Normal volley ball, but winning hit gets 1, 2 or 3 points depending
on how many hits they made on their side before hitting over the net. Play to 35 points.
2) VOLLEY BALL: Every member of the team must hit the ball at least once before it
can be sent back across the net. Play to 9 points.
3) CATERPILLAR: Divide in teams. Everyone lying on their stomach, packed tightly
against each other, last person rolls over others. Race.
4) PEOPLE PASS: Two or more teams. Standing, each time has two parallel lines, pass
person at end of line to front until no one left, then reverse. Race. Alternatively, each time
carries one of its members from start to finish line, then goes back and carries another
until all have been carried.
5) AMOEBA RACE: Two or more teams. Each team has a cell wall created by circle of
people with their backs to the center, elbows linked. Inside the wall is the protoplasm,
carrying one person who is the nucleus. It's better if the running course is not straight, but
rather following a numbered course, e.g. with numbers posted on different trees, and the
nucleus or wall has to touch the number. Even better if some slight obstacles are on the
way.
6) ECO-BALL: Each team has plastic bags plus a limited area. Within a fixed time they
race to collect garbage, or weeds. When time is finished, they dump their collection in the
goal, and the judges give points according to the quantity and quality.
7) FRISBEE GOLF: At least two players. First one player decides the course of the first
hole, including traps and out of bounds. When first hole is finished, second player decides
course of second hole and so on.
8) PILLOWFIGHT: Sitting on pole with hay underneath. Knock opponent off pole.
9) SCHMERLTZ: Ball in a long sock without heel. Tie it. Buy sock at hiking shop.
10) BOLA: Extend Schmerltz with a rope about 12 feet or more, spin for others to jump.
11) FLYING DUTCHMAN: Circle holding hands. One set of partners sails until breaks
the circle, the two whose hands were broken go outside the circle and run in opposite
direction of the breaking couple. Whichever couple gets back first joins the circle, and the
other goes off sailing again.

12) CATCH THE DRAGON'S TAIL: Members of each team hold onto the person in
front of him. Handkerchief is in the last person's pocket of each team. Try to grab the
handkerchief.
13) HUMAN PINBALL: All stand in circle with back to center, head and arms between
knees. One person in center is the target. Or can have two in center. Ball or balls are
being hit between players. If ball hits person in center, one point for the one who pushed
it, plus he replaces the target. If ball goes out of circle, target in center gets a point.
14) HUMAN KNOT: Everyone faces the center, comes close together randomly, holds
hands, but not of person next to you, and not two hands of same person. Without
releasing, untie the knot. Sometimes one release and reclasp must be made.
15) RED HANDED: All stand in circle, one person inside. They pass a rock or any small
object between themselves, of course with maximum faking. All the time they chant hoohoo-hoo and ha-ha-ha. Person in center must try to guess who has the rock at any given
moment. All try one by one. Play two or three rounds. The one who guessed in minimum
total tries wins.
16) SNAKE IN THE GRASS: Start with one snake, who must only crawl, who tags
others who also become snakes. Last is winner.
17) SIAMESE FOOTBALL: Each team divided into pairs, who are each tied in 3-legged
style.
18) SLAUGHTER: On grass or sand field. Take off socks. Each team has a ball and a
hole or other goal. Clearly defined 10-meter diameter circle. Anyone thrown out is out, or
joins other team. Anything goes. Identify two sides by socks and no-socks.
19) BRITISH BULLDOG: 10% people in center, others divide 2 sides, try run to other
side without being lifted nto air to count of "british bulldog 1-2-3" (or other "taiwan tiger
1-2-3" etc). If caught go center. Last person wins.
20) BLOB: Tag with persons joining the blob. Blob can also split. Only end persons can
touch. Start with one person.
21) ROCK/PAPER/SCISSORS: Members of each team collect and take 5 seconds to
decide which symbol they will unitedly make that time. The two teams face each other,
one on one. Winners try to tag losers, who are running for free zone. Tagged persons join
the opposite team until only one person left.
