GUIDELINES FOR PET OWNERS

As pet owners, we have a responsibility to manage our pets and ensure good behavior
in public. Cultivating appropriate behavior in our dogs paves the way for pleasant
relations and peaceful coexistence among dog owners and non-owners alike at the
Palm Springs.

GENERAL GUIDELINES AND PET ETIQUETTE

1. Register your dogs: It is mandatory for all dogs to be registered with The Palm
Springs facilities management for two main reasons: 1) we know how many pets
are in the complex and residing in which dwelling 2) Also the owners confirm that
the dogs are vaccinated for all diseases.
2. Prevent barking: Avoid keeping your dog in closed confined spaces like the
balcony, where the dog might be very uncomfortable and keep barking, thereby
disturbing others in the neighborhood.

only to do their business. In case a dog soils a non-designated common area the
dog walkers should ensure that they clean-up the poop. It is mandatory for the dog
walkers to carry a bag, just in case the dog accidentally relieves himself in a nondesignated area. Cleaning up every time will set a good example for others and
help in keeping the surroundings hygienic. This will also portray an image of dog
owners as caring, responsible citizensa good thing all around!
If in spite of all precautions, your dog does something that upsets someone else (e.g.
jumping up, barking at them, etc.), apologize to that person and take measures to
prevent the situation from re-occurring. Dogs are a bundle of joy for the families that
own them. While you enjoy this pleasure be mindful and respectful of the members
who are not very comfortable with dogs

WALKING YOUR DOGS

1. Always leash your dog. It doesn't matter how friendly your dog is, always leash
your dog while walking. Ensure that the leash and the collar are commensurate
with your dog's size and strength. Do not keep the collar too loose as sometimes
dogs can free themselves. Remember that not everyone is comfortable around
dogs, so NEVER let your dog walk/run without a leash .This is safe for your dog too.
2. Be extremely careful while entering or exiting lifts: Avoid taking dogs in lifts that
already have a few members, especially if the occupants are uncomfortable. Hold
back your dogs while entering and exiting lifts as there may be people or other
dogs on the other side .It is mandatory that dogs be taken only by the service lift to
avoid any untoward incident.
3. Only experienced dog walkers should walk the dogs: In case you cannot walk your
dog, please ensure that a person who is familiar with your dog and can handle your
dog is the one who walks it .It is the responsibility and accountability of the dog
owner to ensure that their dog does not harm or bother anyone.
4. Be aware of other people's space. Keep your leashed dog close to you and stay
alert to people passing by. This is especially important for dog owners who use
extendable leashes. You should ensure that the leash should be short enough to
prevent your dog from contacting or jumping on other dogs or people around.
5. Do not allow dogs to mingle unless they know each other: While our dogs also
need to socialize with their friends, we should ensure that these interactions are
well managed and we know the nature of our dog. Do not allow your dog to jump
all over other dogs as it can result in injury to either of them. Allow the dogs to
interact only if they know each other or if their behavior is predictable.
6. Scoop your dog's poop! It is mandatory that dogs be taken to designated areas
