About Us
Envitems Inc. is a Finnish company specializing in cleantech, air quality measuring instruments, in
particular. Envitems is an instrument manufacturer with extensive experience in the electronics
industry and the cleantech sector. We design and manufacture air quality stations that are used
to measure the pollutant gas and particle content of ambient air. We also provide our customers
with air quality measuring data services.

As a young, growing and innovative company, our mission is to provide advanced instruments for
air quality monitoring. We share the global concern about the environment and do our best to
reduce emissions. Our vision is becoming a globally important company and a pioneer in air quality measuring. Our driving forces are continuous innovation and a new way of thinking.

THE CLEANTECH INDUSTRY
Our factory in Finland is in charge of the assembly, quality assurance and calibration of our products. Our global supplier network consists of companies who share our vision of high quality and
state-of-the-art technology. We also design and manufacture customised systems for applications
when standard solutions are not enough. Envitems Inc. is a privately owned company whose largest external sponsor is the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology (Tekes).

Technology
The gas measuring technology used by Envitems is based on an advanced electrochemical principle.

The sampled gas causes a reduction or oxidation reaction in an electrochemical cell. Both
reactions create a weak electric current. The electric current is directly dependent
on the volume of measured gas. By measuring the electric current and using
advanced calculation and compensation algorithms, it is possible to calculate the gas content. Most electrochemical cells are highly susceptible to
ambient conditions (temperature and humidity); their impact is reversed
with Envitems proprietary adjustment and compensation system. This
guarantees accurate ppb level measurements.

The operating principle of the optional particle sensor by Envitems is based on scattering caused by particles moving past a laser beam that are detected with the help
of optics and photosensitive sensors. The method allows simultaneous measuring of two particle
sizes (2.5 and 10 m).
