Note:
Either too low or too high environment temperature may lead to
abnormal running of the equipment.
Air-conditioner is required in the equipment room. It is forbidden
to place the equipment in any damp site. In southern areas where
the humidity is higher, damp-proof devices should be provided;
while in northern areas where the humidity is lower, antistatic floor
should be provided.
Cleanness
Requirements
Illumination
Cleanness concerns the dust and harmful gases in the air. The
equipment room should meet the following cleanness requirements:
The equipment room must be very clean, and the doors and
windows must be sealed.
The equipment room is free from being exposed to direct sunlight to avoid aging and deformity of the circuit cards and other
components.
The average light is from 150 Lx to 200 Lx without flare. Generally , the equipment room is lighted by fluorescence lamps
embedded in the ceiling.

Installation Environment
Check
This topic includes the following:
24
Construction Check
Safety Check
Construction Check
Before indoor cabinet installation, check the equipment room construction and indoor environment.
The civil work is complete and the indoor walls are dry.
The load bearing capacity for the equipment floor is more than
450 kg/m2. The bearing capacity for the non-equipment floor
is at least 300 kg/m2.
No drain pipe passes through the equipment room. The reserved hidden ducts and holes meet the cabling requirements.
The hole size is 400 mm 400 mm. Ducts and troughs should
be damp-proof.
Cleanness
Cleanness concerns the dust and harmful gases in the air. The
equipment should be installed in the equipment room where
meets the following cleanness requirements:
25
The cabling of the power supply system is exact, tidy with good
insulation, and reasonable layout.
Note:
If the system has the active/standby power supply, both the power
cables should be connected in correct directions. Once the cable is
connected in a reverse direction, it may cause serious short circuit.
The power cables should be clearly separated from the signal lines
and subscriber lines. In the process of laying out the power cables,
make sure that the feed cables and busbar meet the medium-term
or long-term expansion demands.
26
The cabinet has the protection grounding busbar. All the protection grounding and working cables are connected to the
grounding busbar. Therefore, the protection grounding busbar
is a hybrid busbar for both protection grounding and working
grounding.
The soil type has the greatest effect on the grounding resistance. In an area with poor soil condition, it is recommended
to add the resistance reducer (like acrylamide) around the
grounding stub.
Safety Check
Check that the equipment room meets the following safety requirements:
Whether the power cables for external power supplies and cabinets are ready.
Whether the optical fibers are prepared and whether the optical
fiber connectors match.
27
The space reserved for opening the front and rear door should
be larger than 1 m.
The space between the cabinet side and the wall should not be
less than 0.9 m.
28
Power cables, grounding cables, signal cables, subscriber cables, and optical fibers should be laid separately.
All cables must be bound with cable ties in the following manner:
29
Extra parts of the cables should be cut off neatly, without leaving any sharp edges.
Equipment Unpacking
This section includes the following topics:

All the cable ties should face the same direction and an even
spacing of 60 mm should be kept between them.
After the cables are bounded, cut belt from the root smoothly.
Note:
The internal connections from the power distributor to the cabinet
busbar are complete before delivery. No on-site installation is required.
Installation Steps
Before installation, first turn OFF the three power supply output
switches on the front panel of the power distributor. Then, perform
the following steps:
1. Connect the two-channel -48 V power cords to the corresponding terminals on the power distributor and the DC distributor
cabinet in the equipment room. The -48 V cable is blue and
the -48 V GND cable is black. Inverse connection is forbidden.
2. Lead the protection grounding cable out of the grounding bar
in the equipment room.
3. Use a yellow-green grounding cable to connect the grounding
bar in the equipment room and the terminal PE on the power
distributor.
4. Label the power and grounding cables to indicate the usage
and directions. Use two labels at both ends of each cable. The
labels indicate the local equipment name and opposite equipment name. Paste labels 2 cm to 3 cm away from cable connectors.
Installation Check
After installing the power cables and grounding cables, turn ON the
air switch on the power distribution cabinet in the equipment room.
Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the power distributor.
Connect the red probe of the multimeter to terminal 1 (silkscreen: -48 V (I)) and the black probe to terminal 4 (silkscreen: -48 V (VRTN)). If the voltage displayed on the multimeter is -48 V, it indicates that the first channel of -48 V power
supply is led in properly.

Cabling Principles
This topic includes the following:
Cabling Requirements
Cabling Requirements
The cabling requirements are as follows:
The specifications, quantity, routing direction, and layout position of the cables should comply with the construction design.
The cabling length of each cable depends on the specific position.
93
Each cable should run straight in the duct and run smoothly at
each corner. If the outer diameter of a cable does not exceed
12 mm, the bending radius should not be less than 60 mm. If
the outer diameter is more than 12 mm, the bending radius
should be at least 10 times the outer diameter.
When optical fibers, cables, power cables, and grounding cables run in the same duct, they should not overlap each other.
If a cable is too long, coil it in the middle of the cabling rack
and do not put it above any other cable.
When laying the tail fiber, try best to avoid turns. It should
be bound with appropriate force. When laying optical fibers
on the cabling rack, try to avoid bending, and bind them with
proper tightness. When routed along the cabling rack, the optical cables should be separated from other cables. Never mix
optical cables with other cables, or load other cables on optical
fibers. Optical cables should wear protective rubber tube. Coil
and bind redundant fibers on the top/bottom of the cabinet free
from easy access. Tail fiber should be handled carefully since
it might be easily broken.
The exposed part of the soft optical fibers in the cabling rack
and trough, as well as the part of the soft optical fibers at turns
where the fibers go out of and go into the cabinet and cabling
rack, should be protected and fixed with proper tightness.

Overview
The front panel on the control and switching card provides the Ethernet interface (interface Q), which is connected with the maintenance console (or Ethernet switch or other network devices)
through the network cable. The maintenance interface manages
the ZXA10 C220 in out-of-band NM mode.
During network cable layout, if the cable length is not long enough,
choose a cable in appropriate length. Meanwhile, try to avoid too
many turns and bind the cables in appropriate tension.
