strange boat. The hold is now
empty, except for two wondrous items: smooth crystal spheres, both
similar in appearance. They are dark, but glow with a heart of fire one as tall as a child, the other no bigger than a mans head. Koiramies
quickly leaves the boat and, as the day is drawing near to a close,
builds his pyre talo (La. round house i.e. igloo) for a night's sleep.
Koiramies has found the shipwreck of the boat that tried to carry away
King Arvedui and the two palantri of Annminas and Amon Sl. After

over a thousand years the fickle tides and currents of the Bay of
Forochel have finally brought the frozen wreck up from the ocean floor
entombed within a huge iceberg. This iceberg has drifted around for
many months, slowly melting before grounding upon the shores of the
bay, not far from where King Arvedui must have boarded the boat
when he set out upon his ill-fated journey.

Introduction
This scenario is set in the late autumn of the year 3013 and starts at
the Prancing Pony Inn in Bree, Arthedain. While staying at the Pony
the PCs are approached by a young trader called Alaric. He wishes to
hire their services for the next month or so for a task of some
importance.

The Task
Alaric says he needs the PCs to protect him and his two sturdy hill
ponies laden with trade goods on his travels North to the Lossoth
village of Mulkan, then back again to Bree. At Mulkan he will be
trading much-needed Arthedainian metal goods in exchange for rare
Lossoth furs, skins and herbs.
Alaric will cover the costs for any food, lodging and cold weather
clothing that are required (within reason). On their return to Bree he
will richly reward each person at the rate of 1 silver piece per day.
