TITAN: Radically Simplifying Signaling & Control

Signal Transfer Point (STP)

Future Proof Investment
The TITAN STP application offers SS7/C7 Signaling Transfer Point (STP) and Signaling Gateway (SG) services
over traditional time-division multiplexing (TDM) networks and/or Internet Protocol (SIGTRAN) networks. The
TITAN multi-protocol signaling-control platform supports 15+ next-generation signaling services on a common
ENUM, DNS, SIP, SS7/C7, SIGTRAN and DIAMETER infrastructure. By selecting TITAN for STP/SG services
our service-provider customers are investing in a future-proof infrastructure that dramatically simplifies the
transition from a TDM network to an IP network, and from a SS7/C7 based signaling working practice to the new
SIP / DIAMETER based signaling paradigm.

System Architecture
TITAN STP consists of the TITAN Master and TITAN Edge nodes. Provisioning is executed on the TITAN
Master and replicated in real time to a constellation of TITAN Edges providing the signaling services. The TITAN
Edges operate as a Mated Pair Active/Active.

NFV Ready
Offering carriers investment protection and the platform to accomplish a smooth migration between signaling
paradigms. TITAN STP can be deployed on COTS hardware as well.

E1/T1/J1 support
TITAN STP can be equipped to support traditional TDM SS7 and High-Speed ATM SS7. Making the TITAN
STP highly flexible and scalable signaling solution for all system architectures maximizing investments.

Product Data Sheet

Features
ANSI / ITU Interworking
TITAN STP provides translation for ITU and ANSI messages.

Capability Point Codes

The Mated pair TITAN STP offers the capability to present one point code to the network for a service. There
can be multiple point codes services by each Mated Pair STP.

Global Title Translation (GTT)

TITAN STP supports final and intermediate GT translations. The GT translation can on standard translation or
include higher-level (TCAP) parameters. Variable length GT and GT prefix, postfix manipulation is supported.

Gateway Screening (GWS)

TITAN STP can allow, block, gap or throttle traffic as per the result of the integrated GWS function. Compound
GWS can be based on any parameter in the received message (OPC, DPC, CdPA, CgPA, TT, etc) through the
extension mechanisms of TITAN STP.

Point Code Mapping

Point Code Mapping allows transparent configuration and manipulation of SS7 nodes without disrupting or
reconfiguring the SS7 network. The SS7 nodes are assigned local point codes the TITAN STP maps to the
public ones whenever processing an incoming or an outgoing message addressed to these nodes.

Multiple Network Instance Capability

Multiple network instance capability enables multiple variant (ANSI, ITU, Chinese and Japanese) and networkindicator combinations that execute simultaneously.

GSM MAP Screening

TITAN STP supports GSM MAP Screening based on any combination of parameters from the received
message and policies to allow, reject or re-route the message defined for the particular case.

Multi-Layer Routing Capability

TITAN STP supports multi-layer routing by screening and routing message based on the extension mechanisms
of TITAN STP. Combination of any parameter in the received message, locally provisioned data, data obtained
from external sources, and policies.

Number Portability
A number portability dip can be triggered on inspection of any TCAP application (MAP, CAP, INAP, WIN, etc.).

Additional Applications / Features

Using the underlying TITAN flexibility, the TITAN STP can be grown with additional applications and services.
These can include Mobile Number Portability (MNP), Signaling Relay Function (SRF) and MAP Application
Terminating Function (MATF) to simplify and reduce the signaling in the network and to bring efficiencies.
