Topic 1 Present simple vs Present continuous

Present Simple
The simple present expresses an action
in the present taking place once, never or
several times. It is also used for actions
that take place one after another and for

Present Continuous
The
present
perfect
progressive
expresses an action that recently stopped
or is still going on. It puts emphasis on
the duration or course of the action.

Countable: Most of the nouns are countable. You can combine them with numbers.
Uncountable: These nouns cannot be combined with numbers.
Used for: things we can count using numbers and the things that we cannot count with numbers

Used for: indicates the number or amount being referred to.

I get up at 6 o'clock every morning.

How much money have you got?

How many dollars have you got?

Can I have some of these apples?

Have you got any answers?
