The most interesting law for me?

You should admit that it is the Vienna Convention on the

Law of Treaties, concluded at Vienna on 23 May 1969.
Why this law? Maybe because in the current international context, no country, no matter how
big or rich and poor small it may be, can isolate itself from the rest of the world without facing
negative consequences in terms of own development. As the world becomes smaller through
technology, rapid transportation and interdependent, international economy, peaceful and cooperative
relationships between states become extremely valuable and important for the global stability.
International relations and international law, whose branch is itself the law of treaties, are deeply
interconnected, as the latter is the legal framework that governs the first.
Treaties form the basis of modern international law. They serve to satisfy the basic needs of
the states, to regulate by free consent issues of common interest, thus the stability in their mutual
relations.
As a tool in ensuring the stability, reliability and order, treaties are some of the most
important elements in maintaining international peace and stability. Therefore, since the early days of
international law, treaties have been the principal source of legal relationships between what today
we call states. As an instrument in ensuring the stability, reliability and order, treaties are the most
important tools in maintaining international peace and stability. Therefore, since the early days of
international law treaties have been the principal source of legal relationships between what today we
call states.
The preamble of the Vienna Convention itself lays emphasis on the importance of the treaties
in the history of the international relations and in particular their importance for the development of
peaceful cooperation between states. This fundamental importance proved to be continuous while the
rules and procedures of concluding treaties and the contents of international agreements have
changed during the centuries, in trying to adapt the world dynamics as well. Nowadays, more than
ever, must be emphasized the importance of treaties. They affect us directly. Every day a treaty is
made, signed, ratified, interpret, and hopefully less frequently violated. Many ordinary human
activities are governed by treaties, usually without those affected to be aware of this. There are
activities that are possible because they are authorized by the Treaty. Only if we think of the impact
that the European Union had for us so far... EU cooperation between states is based on a set of
international treaties.
Vienna Convention is the basis of the Law on International Treaties which provides
regulations on how Romania can join or sign bi or multilateral agreements with other subjects of
international law. These treaties include both rights and duties. These treaties affect the state as
whole, not only legislative, executive or judicial organisms. These treaties benefit or undertake the
entire population.
How many have benefited from Erasmus scholarships? How many have traveled outside the
country to civilian aircraft? You recently left the country only ID? These are just a few examples.
These being said I have to conclude that the most interesting law for me is Vienna
Convention on the Law of Treaties. Because it is the legal framework by which we can create,
negotiate, sign, ratify and denounce treaties. For it is the basis the Law of Treaties and is the main
source of law in the matter. And as the treaty is the main source of law, along with customs, for the
International Law, and the International Law governs international relations. And international
relations affect us all.
