Add New Account and Edit Account


From the home page, click the Account row. This page displays:

Drag and drop this icon to change


the account order

Add a new account: The screen


looks like the picture display on the
right.
Set Default: Allow you to see the
account first when you open the
app.
Edit: change the account order and
update the account information.

Check this box if you want this


account to track your auto expense
and mileage. Mileage related feature
will be activated for this account.
Click here to delete account. It
deletes all transactions under this
account. Be careful.
If there is only one account in the
app, this button is hidden. You
cannot delete it.

View Account Activities


From home page, click the button View Account Activities

Click More
from menu to
see more
menu options.

Specify the search criteria and click


search button to search the
transactions.
Specify the search criteria and click the
E-mail button to send a report in print
format to your email address for read
or print it from desktop.

Delete the records on this page. You can


search transaction first and then select
this button to delete the searched
records.
User can go to this page this set the
criteria to display activities by default.
You can narrow down the records to your
interest.

Add New Expense/Income From home page click Add New Expense or Income button

Open built-in calculator to do simple


calculation. User can use calculator
keypad to enter numbers too.

Long press the item


to Edit or Delete

Open the page to select Category and


Subcategory. On the category page and
open menu to Add, Edit, and Delete
Category and Subcategory.

Click this camera image to take a picture


of the receipt or attach an existing
receipt picture.
Note: Camera permission used for
taking picture of receipts.

Schedule/Recurring Transactions
From home page, click Schedule/Recurring button
Click button to add

Tap the item to edit

If you pay rent monthly for a year


No of payment :12 (month)
Frequency: monthly
Checkbox: Report Future Transactions
If you want to see all recurring items
including the ones occurring in the
future, please check it.
If you want to see the recurring items
that occur until now in the transaction
activities page, leave it unchecked.

Long press the repeating item to see


more options:
Repeating Transactions: list all
transactions related to this repeating
items
Delete: select delete option will ask
you confirm your intent. Click Delete
button will delete this repeating items
and all related recurring transactions.
Click Stop button will delete the
repeating item but the recurring
transaction occurred so far will be
retained.

User can select Reminder before the


repeating transaction date approaches
from this selection

Budget

From home page, click Budget button

User can set up budget on daily,


weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
Tab the left or right arrow to move to
the previous and the next period
depending on which tab you select.

View Transactions: open a page

Edit: open the budget entry page to
edit
Delete: delete this budget items.
Transactions related to the budget
arent deleted.

expense approaches the budget limit.

Settings

From home page, open menu and select menu Settings

Before you can enter password, check


checkbox Enable password security.
Security question is optional.

Users has flexibility to customize


almost everything to suit their needs
Backup data or sync with Dropbox are
very import feature. It will be
demonstrated in the following pages.

Week starts Sunday in US and Monday

Display Settings

From home page, open menu->Settings->Display

If this box is checked , you will prompt to


confirm the exit when you use back

in CSV format
Email CSV: email transactions data
from all accounts.
Import from CSV: you can import
data from CSV file. Please use the
same data structure as the export
data format .
Note: On View Account Activities
page, export to CSV button exports
data from individual account. Here
the function exports data from all
accounts into one CSV file.

Upload database, csv data or


receipt to Dropbox manually.
When you enable the connection
to Dropbox, the app will upload
the data to Dropbox
automatically.
User can download the data from
Dropbox manually by clicking the
download buttons.
If you want to sync data between
multiple devices, please check this
box. Otherwise dont check the box.
Make sure all devices have the latest
data before you enable the sync.
Note: if you have intermittent
internet connection, dont use this
option.

Add notes such your bank account

Sort the order of the notes based on the


importance of the note.

calculation, click OK button to transfer
the result to amount field in Add Expense

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How to go to Account list page?


Click the account name above the View Account Activities and below the
account sliding bar (if you have the sliding bar). In version 1.5.0, there is
account sliding bar above the Account name if you have more than one
accounts.

9. Why cannot I enter password?Please check the Enable app unlock


security to enable the password feature.

2. How to do account transfer?


Click the account name above the View Account Activities and you will see
the Account list page. Or go to Schedule/Repeating Transaction page and
menu Account Transfer.

11. How to search transactions?


Click View Account Activities button and then More menu and select
Search Transaction.

3. How to export expense data to SD Card?Click menu button on home


page and then Settings menu. Select Backup. You can export data to SD
Card in the CSV format. Or go to View Account Activities and menu
Export/Import. You can export selected data SD Card in CSV format.
4. How to backup data to SD Card?
Click menu button on home page and then Settings menu. You can back
up database to SD Card.
5. How to set up the payment alert?
A user can set up the payment alert once or alerts for recurring payment.
Go to Schedule/Repeating Transaction to set up the either expense or
income payments with alerts.
6. How to set up multiple account?
Tap the Expense Account icon to set up a new account and a default
account.
7. How to add a new expense category?
Go to New Transaction screen and then Expense Categories menu. If you
cannot find the category you want, then go New Category menu to add a
new category.
8. How to import expenses from a file?
Please do an export first and follow the export file format to set up the
import file. Name the file as expenses.csv and store it on SD under
/sdcard/expensemanager/expenses.csv. Please make sure the date format
is yyyy-mm-dd.

10. I forget the password and security answer. How can I reset the
password?Please send email to qzhou8@gmail.com for help.

12. How to delete transactions?


Go to View Account Activities page and then search transactions first.
Then go to Delete menu to delete the records on the page. You can delete
all transactions, expense transactions and income transactions. Be careful
when doing so.
13. How to add mileage as expense?
Click Add New Expense button and then open menu Mileage Conversion.
14. How to get to the pie chart screen?
Click This Week Expense or This Month Expense or Year to Day Expense to
go to expense page. Click Date View or Category View and then click Chart
button.
15. What does stands for?
means that this transaction has receipt attached.
16. How to change background and button color?
On app home page, click menu and select Settings and then Display.
17. How to backup and sync in Cloud?
On app home page, click menu and select Sync with Dropbox. You need
set up Dropbox account first. It's free to set up a Dropbox account at
http://www.dropbox.com. If you sync with multiple device, please make
sure each device has latest data before turning on the sync option.
18. Should I update to Pro Edition?
If you want to manage business and personal accounts separately or you
don't like the Ads, please upgrade to Pro Edition. You save money to stay
with free version. Free and Pro versions have same features.

19. How to delete or edit Auto Fill item?
Long press the Auto Fill item to delete or Edit.
20. How to set up an account for Auto and Mileage?
Go to Account list page and click Add button. Check the box Auto and
Mileage. Then go to home page and slide to the Auto and Mileage account
and you can add the Auto related expense and mileage. You can click
Mileage button to view the Mileage activities. On the Mileage Activities
page and menu, you can view the mileages by week or month or you can
search a trip.
21. How to add a note?
Go to App home page and menu More and then Note, you can add notes
such account number, a reminder, or a transaction note etc. On Account
Activities page, you can long press a transaction and add the transaction
to note.
22. How to set up default Account Activities page?
Go to View Account Activities page and menu More and Set Default. On
this page you can narrow down the transaction as default activities page.
You can also highlight the transaction with a specified status such as
Unclear so that you can pay attention to those items.
