What is WIPS?
An indoor planning tool:
Multi-Technology (Cellular, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, Femtocell
etc)
Available in 2 versions:
1.
2.
What is WIPS?
Benefits
Indoor planning in the past:
Based on number of trials,
Equipment was laid and installed based on installer
experience and best knowledge,
In large enterprise environment such an approach is no
longer acceptable.
Future Benefits
With large growth in mobile (wireless) broadband indoor
planning becomes the new focus.
First to market will provide bigger market share
A new co-operation with construction companies will provide a
head start in the building of telecom infrastructures within the
commercial, residential and campus market.
No need to change formats providing the architects and civil
engineers with the trust perception from the first time they use the
tool.
Closer relationship with system integrators, H/W distributors, ISPs
and telecom operators
Data Support
Estimated capacity per user per month in next decade:
CEPT (Europe) 43.8GB/Month,
Cisco (Global) 24.7GB/Month,
UMTS Forum 15.5GB/Month,
WIPS
An easy to use tool:
WIPS
Users can see what the estimated signal strength (with
selected access point transmit power) and can evaluate if
areas are suitable considering health regulations and EMC
regulations
Allows users to evaluate interference in the case of using
multiple access points (frequency planning) and to achieve
highest throughput.
Allows users to see best server analysis and to estimate
which access points are the best to connect to helps to select
optimal number of access points.
3D presentation
3D wall view
3D antenna diagram view
3D Presentation Details
Detailed presentation of wall parameters, viewing angle, etc. on
the right side.
Revit A unique
feature at this
moment!
Provides more
detailed definition
of all construction
elements inside
building
Floor Viewer
2D floor view.
Scrolling, zooming
Wireframe and full
material floor view.
Results presentation for,
RSS, CINR, best server.
Model Viewer
The Model Viewer is
used to display the 3D
model of the project and
display 3D aligned
analysis results.
Results can be provided
in full material or in
wireframe view (useful
to see access points
positions inside
buildings).
Architectural Elements
The check boxes next to each node in
the tree are used to control the visibility
of the elements related to that node
Invisible elements do not participate in
calculations of RSS! Useful for
modifying the building structure.
Material Views/Edit
Used to review and edit the information
about different elements and their
propagation influence (in terms of the signal
attenuation they bring into the calculation).
In the Families tab, the users can edit the
influence (attenuation) of each element
belonging to a specific family.
Running Analysis
Analysis can be performed for active or all access points.
