David; per our conversation . Here is a draft of an email to Mr. Denmead.
................................................................
The Creek/roadway restoration near the large driveway close to 62 Larry lane will be addressed by a City contractor
in August (item No.5). Staff has been working with permitting agencies and consultants to facilitate this repair
work. We will have the work completed before the rainy season.
Bird cage. We do not have any record showing the City owns the bird cage or the watercourse surrounding it. The
entire facility is outside of the City's right of way and staff has been cleaning the bird cage as service to the
constituents. Also, notices were mailed to the property owners to attend to this private facility.
If there are other concerns or issues, please contact the City's call center first at 615-5566 and contact me for followup.

Mr. Denmead; we will take a site visit for each of the issues you listed in your email and will get back with you by
the end of the week.

The Roadway/Creek restoration near the wide driveway (item No. 5) on Larry Lane is up for repair in August when
the water level is supposed to be at its lowest. We have the permits that we need and our contractor is ready to
start.

Vit,
It has been over a year and David has never contacted me about the status of the rebuilding of the edge of Larry
Lane (#5 on list)at Cobbledick Creek , were your survey crew worked in the stream 14 months ago to develop a
profile of the stream bed to submit to the Corp of Engineer,.and now the Street is showing major new cracking and
settlement about 80 feet uphill. In addition the linear cracks across from 40 Larry Lane have opened more and the
street has settled..
Lastly the re paving done on Larry Lane 20 years ago is now decomposing starting at 80 Larry lane and estending
downhill for about
150. ft. Old items 1,2, &4 were taken care of however, the riprap at
the road edge in #3 had nothing done to it and it has further eroded over the past winter because the lone catchbasin
clogged several times and the rain flow down Larry Lane cascaded of the street edge at this location.
I would also like to point of the when the Infamous BirdCage clogged this winter the resulting rise in water caused
further erosion to the Rip rap dam wall face.
Walter

Vit,
Welcome back, I hope the weather at your conference was better than the weather here. The rains have continued to
cause problems in my neighborhood and I'll relist the problems for your review.
1. 2101 Mastlands Dr. has had its yard flooded, since Thursday, do to a clog in the underground storm sewer
carrying the natural stream and the increased rain runoff.
2. There is a small rock slide across from 2259 Mastlands.
3. The problems at the " Bird Cage" has increased dramatically during the storms. Cobbledick Creek overflowed the
Rip Rap dam for 3 days and further eroded its face dumping the rock in the lower stream bed where it goes under
the houses on Ascot Court. When I last spoke about this issue with Craig Pon in February, I told him that one of my
neighbors approached me and told me that she has lived on Mastlands since 1962 and that the City did the work on
Cobbledick Creek including the undergrounding because of floods which occurred during the winter of
1962/1963 ( I did a little research and there is mention of major flooding in the hills, that winter, in old newspaper
articles on line).
I offered to do further research on this history, but was told by Craig not to bother. Craig also told me he was going
to have the City contact the Property Owner on Mountaingate to resolve the issue.
4. The Creek that flows down from the Painted Rock on Ascot came close to overflowing at Larry Lane do to major
blockages at the Weir about 30 feet east of Larry Lane. The Water in that Area rose over 8 feet above its normal
flow line.
5. Finally, what is the status of the work to rebuild the Larry lane road edge at the 2 driveways and fix the road
where it is washing out at the Bird Cage area when the catchbasin clogs..
I will be meeting with our Neighborhood Committee this week and need to provide them with some feedback on
what the City is planning to do.
