HARDWARE

Hardware is the collection of physical elements that constitutes

a computer system. All of which are physical objects that can be touched. In
contrast, software is instructions that can be stored and run by hardware. A
combination of hardware and software forms a usable computing system.
Hardware is divided into two categories : Input Devices and Output Device
Input device is any peripheral (piece of computer hardware equipment) used to
provide data and control signals to an information processing system such as
a computer or other information appliance.

1.Keyboard
Keyboard is a device to input text and character by depressing buttons (referred
to as keys), similar to a typewriter. The most common English-language key layout is
the qwerty layout. Keyboard is used to type text, numbers and symbol into a word
processor, text editor or other programs. In normal usage, the keyboard is used to type
text and numbers into a word processor, text editor or other programs. In modern
computer, the interpretation of key presses is generally left to the software. Keyboard
are also used for computer gaming, either with reguler keyboards or by using
keyboards or by using special gaming features, which can expedite frequently used
keystroke combinations.

2.Mouse
Mouse is a pointing device that functions by detecting two-dimensional motion
relative to its supporting surface. Physically, a mouse consists of an object held under
one of the users hand, with one or more buttons, other elements, such as wheels, or
extra buttons.

3. JoyStick
Joystick is a general control device that consist of a handheld stick that pivots
around one end, to detect angles in two or three dimentions. Joystick are often used to
control video games, and usually have one or more push-buttons whose state can also
be read by the computer.

4. Webcam
Webcam is video capturing device connected to computers or computer
networks, often using USB or if they connect to networks, internet or Wi-Fi. They are
well-known for their low manufacturing costs and flexible applications. Below is a
picture of webcam.

5. Scanner
Scanner is a device that providesinput by analysing images, printed text,
handwriting, or an object and convert it to a digital image. Commonly used in offices
are variations of the dekstop flatbed scanner where the document is placed on a glass
window for scanning. Hand-held scanners, where the device is moved by hand, have
evolved from text scanning wands to 3D scanners used for industrial desaighn,
reverse engineering, test and measurement, orthotics, gaming and other applications.

6.Microphone
Microphone are used in many applications such as telephones, tape recorder,
hearing aids, motion picture production, live and recorded audio engineering, in radio
and television broadcasting and in computers for recording voice, VoIP, and for nonacoustic purpose such as ultrasonic checking.

Output device is any piece of computer hardware equipment used to

communicate the results of data processing carried out by an information processing
system (such as a computer) which converts the electronically generated information
into human-readable form.

1. Monitor
Monitor is an electronic visual display for computers. The monitor comprises
the display device, circuitry and an enclosure. Originally, computer monitors were
used for data processing while television receivers were used for entertaiment. From
the 1980s onwards, computers (and their monitors) have been used for both data
processing and entertaiment.

2. Speaker
Speaker is a peripheral which makes a representation of an electronic document
on physical media. Some printers can print documents stored n memory cards or from
digital cameras and sacanner.

3. Printer
Printer is a peripheral which makes a respresentation of an electronic
document on physicsl media. Individual printers are desighned to support local and
network users at the some time. Some printers can print documents stored on memory
cards or from digital cameras and scanners.
