The runway debate has been going on for decades now - and further delays are something that the
UK really cant afford. Every month that our country doesnt have a new runway is another month
of missed economic growth.
Gatwick is able to deliver Britains new runway much faster than Heathrow with less disruption and
without requiring any funding from the taxpayer.
We just dont face the same geographical challenges associated with Heathrows expansion plans,
like having to build their runway over the M25 or having to fly an extra 130,000 planes over central
London every year.
Expanding Gatwick will strengthen the UKs network of airports and create greater competition
in the industry, meaning passengers will benefit from lower fares and better service.
Which is great, because aviation is changing fast. With the introduction of more fuel efficient aircraft, were
now able to fly greater distances without stopping - a whole world of possibilities has opened up.
Gatwick already flies direct to more destinations than any other UK airport building a second runway
would not only strengthen our routes to emerging markets, it would also relieve pressure and
free up hub capacity at Heathrow.
With two world class airports working to their full potential, the skys the limit.
So, enough of the debate, lets just make the right decision for Britains future.

Lembit pik was a surprise loser

Glyn Davies captured the seat
