Reports to: Campaign Manager (occasional communication with Director of Campaign)
United Way of Calgary and Area drives social change in three focus areas: poverty, kids and
communities. Since 1940, United Way has supported agencies that assist vulnerable Calgarians. Today,
United Way invests in over 350 programs and collaborations that tackle root causes of social issues,
connecting Calgarians with opportunities that help them flourish.
United Way has rigorous standards of excellence for performance and impact of investments are
reviewed annually.
Job Overview

In Summer 2015, United Way of Calgary and Area will have an opportunity for a group of MBA students
to deliver a volunteer pro-bono strategy consulting project under the guidance and support of a
professional.
MBAs will team up to solve a real-life business issue and help us prospect for new clients in a changing
economy. This opportunity will give students a full breadth consulting experience from scope definition,
client management, preparation of deliverables, and final presentations. Students are responsible for all
research, analysis, and synthesis of information. The team would be responsible for meeting their own
deadlines, presenting their findings and progress to the client and providing deliverables to the client at
the end of the project.
We are currently seeking motivated and committed MBA students to take part in the project. The
program is an 8 week commitment from early-June to late-August with approximately 4-8 hours of work
per week.
