AUTHENTIC WORSHIP
“I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

(Psalm 34:1, KJV).

When we think of praise and worship, we often think of going to church and
worshiping God in the sanctuary. Worship is the attitude of heart, corporately and
personally shown through acts of reverence for God, by giving thanks and by praising Him.
On a deeper level, worship includes obeying God in our daily walk, presenting our bodies
as a living sacrifice; choosing not to be conformed to this world, but being transformed by
the renewing our minds. When we grasp the meaning of this, it is much easier to connect
with God due to a close and intimate relationship with Him.

Our flesh would rather we walk contrary to God and lose the spiritual connection of
worshiping God in Spirit and Truth. My heart is to reach out to others, but that doesn’t
mean I don’t struggle with selfishness from time to time. However, I purpose in my heart to
worship God through a variety of ways and one of them is walking in the God-kind of love. I
take it a step further and love those who would despise and hate me.

Another way that I show God that I truly love Him and desire to worship Him is
walking in obedience. When I fall short, my heart is to be repentant and to walk pleasing to
God.

One of my most favorite ways of loving God is ministering healing and deliverance to
others. I recall a Sunday morning, several years ago, our pastor asked individuals in the
congregation that if they needed prayer to stand and the prayer ministers nearest them
would pray for them. I stood to pray for the person standing behind me. She stated that
she was scheduled to have a biopsy of a lump in her breast. The physician was not
reassuring her of a good report, but a negative report. It was presumed to be cancerous.
Before I attend church I would remind the Lord, the pastor gives us less than five minutes to
pray for people, so I need to you to move quickly. Well, I prayed for this woman a few
minutes and the Lord impressed in my heart to stop praying. To activate her faith, the Lord
impressed in my heart to tell her to raise her hands and start praising Him for her healing.
When I asked her to begin praising God, she immediately obeyed. The Lord released such
a strong anointing of healing over her. The following week I saw her in church and she
whispered to me that the doctor could not find the lump, so a biopsy was no longer
required. I give God the praise for His mighty acts!

“God must always be the complete focus of your worship. But when you worship
Him, there will be gifts and blessings that He will pour out on you.” (Omartian).

Too often we want to put God in a box or succumb to fear; therefore we limit the
blessings He can release into our lives. We were created to worship God, so let’s give Him
all our heart, soul and mind and body. He is your Healer, Deliverer, Strong Defense and
Provider. You can experience the miraculous breakthrough for whatever you need today.
Just begin praising God with all your heart and He will surely manifest Himself to you.

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John
4:24 KJV).

In my own personal time of worship, I’ve come to learn that God so desires our
worship, in song, a melody in your heart, an obedient heart.

The Lord never ceases to amaze me when I really connect with Him in praise and
worship; he has shown His loving-kindness in such magnificent ways by drawing near in
such a special way.

Will you draw near to God today? Ask God to give you a heart of praise and
worship. It is a remedy for healing of the soul, adversity, and the many trials you will
experience in life.

“And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: And were continually
in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen. (Luke 24:52,53 KJV).

May the blessings of the Lord shower you as you worship Him in true, authentic worship!

God’s Servant,

Cynthia Wilson
