2015 CONDUCT OF NATIONAL OBSERVANCES AND COMMEMORATIONS OF
HISTORICAL EVENTS AND RELATED ACTIVITIES

Summary:
This memorandum is about the conducting of national observances and
commemorations of historical events and related activities in accordance with existing
laws, rules, and regulations. This shows the calendar of the different special events and
celebrations that will be celebrated in the year 2015. Most of these events are
commemorations and historical events. This activities aims for the elementary and
secondary school students to raise the level of historical or cultural awareness to the
significance of the national commemorations, instill to them the greatness of the Filipino
races, and reawaken the Filipino people, especially the youth, to truly demonstrate the
spirit of heroism, patriotism, nationalism, unity and national identity. This shall serve as a
guide to all public and private schools to carry out meaningful activities integrated in
related subject areas. This memorandum is sent to the government, department, and
school staffs who are concern to these special events.
Critique/Comment:
This memorandum is very helpful for everyone especially to the teachers and
students as well. For the teachers, its very useful and helpful because by the use of
these events, they can integrate their topics to the lesson that they will teach to their
students. They can also use different strategies in teaching their students by the use of
these activities. For the students, these events are very important to be felt or to be
experienced by them because it is one of the important events that is celebrated in our
country every year. They should expose to these activities because they need to
develop or demonstrate the spirit of heroism, patriotism, nationalism, unity and national

identity. Not only to their values, they should know these things because it is a part of
our Filipino attributes and cultures. The students must know these basic information of
our countrys history and the celebration that we celebrate here. As a future teacher, I
can help to teach my students about these by integrating these commemoration or
national events to be appreciated by the students and to learn about these things as
well so that they will disseminate these informations to the others. With that part, these
activities will be appreciated by the Filipinos.

TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR MUSIC TEACHERS OF SCHOOLS WITH SPECIAL
PROGRAM IN THE ARTS (SPA)
DepEd MEMORANDUM

Summary:
This memorarndum is all about the training workshop for music teachers of
schools with Special Program in the Arts or SPA. SPA is a program for those students
that have special talents in arts like music, paintings, drawings, etc. This training aims
for the upgrade the musical and pedagogical skills of the music teachers; provide them
with varied and comprehensive range of instructional materials; develop their
musicianship and skills in vocal and instrumental music performances, and expand their
teaching and performance repertoire with diverse cross-cultural music literature. This
workshop is free and recommendable for all especiall to those who are near to the said
places only. These are projects of the Philippine Society for Music Education (PSME)
and National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
Critique/Comments:
This memorandum can help many music teachers nationwide. For me, it will help
the music teachers and the students as well. For the teachers, this workshop can help
them to improve their strategies in teaching and training their students for effective
learning. It can also nurture them with the new ideas and information about the
rudiments and other information regarding to Music and its theories. For their students,
it can help them to improve more to their focusing field if their teacher know well or
master the field they are teaching to. It can help also the students to analyze more the
Music itself and the other aspect of it because they are teaching by the professional
Music teacher trained by this workshop. This workshop is very helpful to all those Music
teachers because it can enhance their knowledge and skills in Music. It can also help

them to improve their own skills that they should pass to their students and to mold
many musically inclined students to be a developed musicians.
