replacing a led module: Cobra t6

TM

V2.1

Mini-X Lightbar - Instruction Manual

Step 1: Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver,

remove the 8 screws attaching the Cobra
Mini cover to the base.
Step 2: Determine if the T6 you are
replacing is in slave or master mode by
pressing and holding the momentary switch
on the cigarette plug. If all 6 lights in the
LED light up, then the module is a master.
If only 3 lights in the LED light up, then the
module is a slave.
Step 3: Each of the T6 heads is mounted
to the frame with a flange and 2 screws.
To remove it, unscrew the module and
flange from the frame with a Phillips #2
screwdriver.
Step 4: Cut the wires of the T6 to be
replaced on the inside of the Cobra Mini
frame, leaving at least 2 of wire to the T6.
Step 5: On an independent power supply,
set the replacement module to slave or
master by pressing and holding the blue
wire against the black wire while red wire is
connected to a 12V(+) source.
Step 6: Set the replacement module on
same pattern as the current Cobra Mini
modules. To change patterns, momentarily
connect the blue wire on a 12V(-) source
while unit is activated.
Step 7: Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, secure the T6 and flange to the base by reattaching
the 2 screws removed in step 3.
Step 8: Solder the replacement module wires to Cobra Mini. Use heat shrink to protect
soldered wires. Solder the red to the cut red wire; black to the cut black wire and blue to the
cut blue wire.
Step 9: Activate the Cobra Mini to make sure the replacement is now in sync with the rest
of the unit.
Step 10: Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, secure the Cobra Mini cover back to the base by
attaching the 6 screws removed in step 1.
