Painting Holiday at Bergerie Moulintour, Laroque de Fa 11330

France

Saturday 17 July to Saturday 23rd July 2010

This is a lovely way to spend a week, for all levels and all ages.
Friends and families all welcome.

You will be staying at Bergerie Moulintour, which is in the

Languedoc between Carcassonne, Narbonne and Perpignan. This
is in the south west of France close to the Spanish border. It is a
dramatic landscape full of medieval history of the Cathars and
their castles.

If you would like to see photos please go to

There will be 6 half day Art sessions with artist Kate Hardy (MA
MFA). In each session you will explore a different aspect of
drawing or painting, using a variety of media, and looking at
varied subject matter including people, objects, landscape,
architecture, light. There will also be opportunities for some
portrait and experimental printmaking and mixed media work -
working in small groups (maximum of 10 participants) ensures
that individual courses of study can be supported, and individual
attention given. Work produced can be used as portfolio
preparation for applying to art courses - advice can be given on
this.

Kate Hardy is a professional painter/printmaker and lecturer in

fine art at Kensington and Chelsea College London. Kate has over
20 years experience of teaching drawing, painting and
printmaking to all levels including BTEC, BA, MFA, special needs
students, children, community groups and homeless people.
Visit http://www.katehardy.posterous.com to see examples of
her work.

You are in the countryside - a place of beautiful nature and we

hope you will enjoy the tranquility, swimming, walking, nature,
pond and river swimming, and fresh air.
The weather is usually lovely and hot. Pack a thin cardigan for
late at night. If you don't have space Sarah will lend you
something to suffice.

More importantly she proposes to feed you delicious locally

sourced morsels with Corbieres wine or homemade elderflower
cordial. Vegetarian or other special food requirements can be
catered for - just let us know.

Cost per person is £500 for all meals and accommodation, art
tuition and materials. If you would like to sleep in a tent and can
bring your sleeping bag the week will cost £300.

This excludes the cost of getting here. Suggested ways are

www.ryanair.com to Carcassonne or Perpignan, www.easyjet.com
to Montpellier or Toulouse and then train to Carcassonne. (If you
would like to have a tree planted to compensate for your air
travel your wish will be granted after the following November
25th when they say the roots will grow!). For trains -
www.sncf.com to Narbonne. Or by overnight sleeper from Paris to
Lezignan-Corbieres. Or if you would like to explore and drive
down through France or across the Pyrennes.
You will get collected from Carcassonne or Perpignan.

If you are interested please don't hesitate to contact Sarah,

moulintour@gmail.com for booking - or with any questions.
25% non-refundable deposit to secure booking is requested, the
remaining 75% is payable 6 weeks before the beginning date of
your chosen holiday.

Here is what one participant has to say about being at Moulintour

last summer. 'It was great drawing with charcoal we made
ourselves, painting the mountain view from Sarah's beautiful
garden, and finding amazing objects to work from at the local
vide grenier.' You can look at the work some of Kate's current
students are producing now in London by going to:
