Assignment 1:
(20%)

a) 4 topics will be posted for discussion.


b) i) Answers should be between 50 100 words (max) unless stated
otherwise (e.g. no word limit)
ii) Answers should be original and any part(s) of the answer taken from
another source should be acknowledged (i.e. cited appropriately).
iii) Comments/responses to answers should be between 10 30
words(max) unless stated otherwise.. Single word or short phrase
comments (e.g. good, agree, well done etc) will not be accepted and
no marks awarded
.
c) A maximum of 5 marks will be awarded for each topic.
i) Answer to the question = max 2 marks.
ii) At least three comments / responses to friends answers = max 3
marks.
d) A deadline will be set for the answers and responses. Answers and
responses will not be accepted after the deadlines. Additionally,
answers and responses sent through email will also not be accepted.

Assignment 2
(40%)

a) Plan two (2) lesson plans that will demonstrate integration of language
skills (and also grammar) within a lesson as well as over two lessons
(see Appendix A for lesson plan template).

b) the lessons can be one-period or two-period lessons.


c) At least one activity in each lesson will require the use of songs or
language games.
d) Conduct the lessons and video record ONE of the lessons.
e) Reflect on the lessons carried out think through the strengths and
weaknesses, possible changes to the plan etc).
f) Hand in a portfolio (hardcopy) which contains the following items:
(Softcopy of the portfolio, except for the video-recording, should be
uploaded on the assignment platform set in myGuru portal)

number etc.
2 lesson plans
Notes concerning the lesson plans (e.g. rationale, source,
students background, how the lessons or language skills are
integrated etc)
Related materials (handouts, realia, lyrics etc). Where
appropriate, include photos of materials (eg. Notes on mahjong
paper etc)
Video recording on a CD /DVD (ensure that the recordings
can be viewed through video players like windows media
player, realplayer etc)
Reflections / self-evaluation of the lesson.
References (if there is any)
Any other elements you see relevant and ought to be included
in the portfolio.

g) Evaluation form for the portfolio will be provided.


h) Portfolio should preferably be compiled in a management file i.e. soft
plastic cover file OR just stapled together to facilitate mailing of the
portfolio through Pos Ekspres, Poslaju or other courier services.
