HAUZ KHAS

COMPLEX
Hauz khas apparently has become the trendy place
to go out in Delhi . it is situated in south delhi
district . hauz khas is an Islamic seminary a
mosque , atomb . it is built around a urbanized
village . alauddin khalji (1296 1316) excavated a
large tank here for the use of inhabitants of siri.
The second city of medieval delhi which was
founded by him it was originally known as hauz-ialai .after this firoz shah tughlag (1351-1388)
reexcavated the silted tank and raised several
buildings on its southern and eastern bank which
was also known as hauz khas or royal tank . it
was built during the time of medieval history of
13th centuary of delhi sultanate . the name hauz
khas is derived in urdu language . the hauz
means water tank and the khas the royal tank .
the tombs are built in domb shape , they giveus a
little sense of muslim regime. Small mosque and
six domed pavilions which are built between 1352
and 1354 AD what once was a village on the
outskirts of new delhi is now a place with narrow
alleys crammed with shops, boutiques , cafes ,
restaurants frequented by tourists and upmarket

Indian urbanities . some of the shops are very

expensive , others more affordable but there is a
great variety people can have more choices
tourists get more attracted towards the shops , as
they want to buy the Indian stuff .
The monuments is scattered in the beginning with
the first few structures on the road to the main
village centre . it does not have only the
monument , fort it has deer park along with a rose
garden which gives the feeling of freshness .
The people living there come in early morning and
evening for a walk , jogging which makes their day
energetic and fresh . the ambience of this place is
simply amazing and the narrow streets with graffiti
walls add to the beauty of the place .
A lot of cafes a lounges , boutiques antique shops
which have desingner cloths and the foreingners
croud makes you feel that you are at some good
tourist destination . it is relatively expensive ,
commercial area with numerous art gallaries ,
boutiques and restaurants . the smell of hauz khas
village is full of freshness , we can see the beauty
all around . greenery gives relaxation to the minds
and hearts of the people . many people come there
for the song practice , they feel the purity in the

place , the kind of relaxation they get, the breez

that touches their skin makes them feel alive . the
pond which have small fishes , ducks and swans
look so amazing , the sound made by the ducks ,
the white feathers of swans looks very pleasant
