In the figure below, the tank contains water and immiscible oil at 20 C. What is h in cm
3
if the density of the oil is 898 kg/m ?
Solucin 1:
z1 = h + 12 cm + 8 cm = h + 20 cm = h + 0.2 m
z2 = 8 cm = 0.08 m
z3 = 6 cm+12 cm + 8 cm = 0.26
La densidad del aceite es,
. Ahora integramos
dp
=
dz
entre 1 y 3:
p3

aceite . ( z 2z 1 ) agua . ( z 3z 2 )= aceite . ( z 1z 2 ) agua . ( z 3z 2 ) =0
p atm+(898)( g)(h+ 0.12)(998)(g)( 0.06+0.1 2)=p a t m

Problema 2.
In Fig. P2.13 the 20C water and gasoline are open to the atmosphere and are at
the same elevation. What is the height h in the third liquid?
Fig. P2.13
Solucin:
fluido:
pfondo = 9790
h=1.52m
N
( 1.5 m ) +1.60 ( 979 0 ) (1. 0 ) =1.60 ( 979 0 ) h+6670(2.5h)

Problema 3.
In Fig. P2.23 both fluids are at 20C. If surface tension effects are negligible, what is
the density of the oil, in kg/m3?
Fig. P2.23
Solucin:
Resolver oil 7343 N/m ,

Problema 4.
In Fig. P2.31 determine p between points A and B. All fluids are at 20C.
Fig. P2.31
Solucin:
Tome los pesos especficos a ser:
Benzene:
8640 N/m3
Mercury:
133100 N/m3
Kerosene:
7885 N/m3
Water:
9790 N/m3
Problema 5.
In Fig. P2.33 the pressure at point A is 25 psi. All fluids are at 20C. What is the air
pressure in the closed chamber B in Pa?
Fig. P2.33
Solucin:

Tome = 9790 N/m3 para el agua, 8720 N/m de aceite SAE 30, and (1.45) (9790) =
= p B = 171100 Pa
