General information
Microsoft Word is probably the most popular software in editing classical documents.
Although it offers extremely complex word processing tools, it is still easy-to-use software.
Menus and commands are available to the user, and these are useful for specialized people but
also for the less initiated or even for beginners.
The aim of this practice is to become familiar with options of Word, with its commands. We will
approach some details of word processing with Word, discovering several particularities of
editing, inserting and manipulating objects created by this application.
Software used during practice: Word, Internet Explorer
Subject 1: starting Word
Start the application Word.
The menus bar and the tools bar look as follows:

What is BIOS? Enter
Most people never pay attention to what really happens when they use a
computer. For many, the computer is simply a machine that reacts to
key presses and mouse moves. The computer is the modern, perfect,
slave; it does only what the master commands, without protesting or
questioning. Enter
In reality the things are not so simple. Behind the user friendly
interface (GUI = graphical user interface), the complex system that is
called computer has to do a lot of things in order to execute every
command, either simple or not. Enter
Here the Basic Input/Output System, in short BIOS, is the main actor.

Save now the new created document. The name of the file will be name_BIOS.
(Remember, name represents your family name, and NOT the first name!)

Subject 2: setting the page and using special keys

Personalize the documents by use of command Properties from menu File.
ALL DOCUMENTS THAT YOU CREATE DURING YOUR PRACTICE SHOULD BE
PERSONALIZED WITH YOUR FULL NAME as Author.
Try to format the two documents above, centering the title paragraphs and coherently aligning
the other.
More precisely, the second text should look, after formatting the paragraphs, as follows:

All books written about a new operation system begin with the sentence that this system starts a new era.
In the computer world, all dating back before 1981 is archaic and practically every month a new era
begins. All that you learn this week could be completely outdated next week!
One of the main activities of those studying the computer industry is to debate whether a new hardware or
software is indeed original, or is only an experience without chances of survival!
Microsoft Windows NT Server version 4.0, even not entirely revolutionary software, was a big step
forward in search for solid and powerful network software, able to control the interconnection of
hardware systems of different types.

Shape buttons, Font, Size Align

Follow the way FormatFont for the special letters; a dialog box will open, and here several
options are available: the type of characters (it is called font), the size, special types or even
changing the color, control of spacing between neighboring graphemes and other (special)
effects.
As for the aligning of paragraphs, it can be done by command FormatParagraph. Try to
arrange also the text you previously introduced from keyboard in the content of file
name_BIOS.DOC. Try to indent the ordinary (normal) paragraphs in mode Hanging, at 1 cm
(justify align).
Subject 3: formatting paragraphs; styles
The document to be edited this time is your own Curriculum Vit, which will be created similar
to the model below. The necessary corrections are made in steps, after introducing the text.
Save this document in a file denoted name_CVIT, of type Document Word. (It is customary, for
official papers that are filed, to leave a blank margin of 1 inch approx. 2.5 cm at left. We
recommend, for a curriculum vit, to fix a left margin of 3,5 cm.)
After all corrections, your text should like as follows:

Sanoclin Center (use Paint) and an artistic description. The model is as follows:
