2015 Boys SIAC Golf Tournament

1. The Boys SIAC Golf Tournament will be played at McDonald Golf Course at
8:00 AM on Friday, June 1, 2015. This will be a shotgun start. All players
will be sent to their starting tee at 7:45 a.m.
2. All coaches should sign in with the official scorer by 7:30 a.m. and indicate the
five (5) participating players. The Four lowest scores will constitute the team
total.
3. The meet will be conducted as medal play through 18 holes. USGA rules and
local course rules will govern play.
4. In case of rain or questions about postponement, call the McDonald Golf Course
at 475-2578.
5. No practice or shagging on the golf course will be permitted on the day of the
meet, and no player will be permitted a caddy. Once a player has finished, he is
not permitted back on the course. Spectators (non-participants) may be permitted
on the course during play provided they adhere to USGA rules governing
spectator conduct.
6. The meet begins at 8:00 AM and all players will be dispatched from their
assigned tee.
7. Each foursome will be made up of players from different schools. The players
will count and keep one opponents score. The scoring of each hole should be
done prior to teeing off on the next hole. At the end of the 18 holes each player
must sign (attest) his scorecard prior to his card being turned in to the official
scorer. Failure of a player to have a correct score by holes, on his card will result
in disqualification. The rules committee will make all other necessary decisions
involving rules of play.
8. TiesA. Individual:
First place for low medalist will be played off. All ties for
second through fifth place will be honored as All-SIAC 1st Team. The 6th
through the 10th place finisher will be honored as All-SIAC 2nd Team.
B. Team:
Use the fifth players score. If a tie remains, additional
hole(s) will be played, using the best four scores for each hole.

9. Ribbons will be awarded to the top ten places and members of the top three teams.
10. Kyle Lewis (Central H.S.), Nick Frazer (Mater Dei H.S.) and the McDonald Golf
Pro or assistant Golf Pro will serve as the tournament rules committee.
11. If the course is deemed unplayable and all players have completed nine holes, the
tournament will be official and winners will be based on nine holes.
12. When the committee suspends play because of lightning in the area, each player
will immediately mark his ball, suspend play and without delay seek shelter.
Coaches should make the following points clear to their players:
A. When play has been suspended, there is no penalty for accepting
automotive assistance to a safe area, but it is suggested that a player return
to his area on foot at the resumption of play.
B. A player may and is strongly encouraged to suspended play himself when
he sees lightning in the area.
