POINT PLEASANT BEACH This years Summer
Kick Off concert at Jenkinsons got off to a chilly
start at least until the music started.
The annual event and concert hosted by radio station 95.5 WPLJ, and Todd and Jayde in the Morning,
once again attracted its loyal following with a lineup
that included Life of Dillon, Lifehouse, Plain White
Ts and Rachel Platten.
When asked about the chilly weather the temperature dipped below 50 degrees Marilyn Ianneci of Morris County said, At least its not raining.
Last year, rain dampened the event. Still, that
year, crowds of people lined up on the boardwalk to
see Magic!, The Fray and Hot Chelle Rae.
Ianneci said she attends the event with family
and friends every year, and woke up at 3:30 a.m. to
drive down to Point Pleasant Beach with her sons,
Robert, 22, and Marco, 17. She said her husband,

LAVALLETTE Take heart, barrier island residents

and visitors: the end of Route 35 reconstruction is in


sight at last.
All lanes on Route 35 will be open and available
this summer as ... the reconstruction project nears
completion, said state Department of Transportation
spokesman Stephen Schapiro. That includes the Lavallette business district on Route 35 north, where
construction work will be halted between this weekend and Labor Day.
Thats music to the ears of Lavallette Mayor Walter
G. LaCicero.
They are really working very, very hard to get this
thing done, said LaCicero, who last December joined
with dozens of borough business owners to express
anger at the prospect that the construction work
