Signaling messages over standard interfaces, including S1, X2, and Uu interfaces, can be
traced on the Web LMT or U2000.
Field
Name
Description
Trace
Direction
Trace Type
Specifies the MME to trace. It can be set to All MME or Specific MME.
If Specific MME is selected, enter the S1 interface ID so that messages
related to this MME can be traced. Otherwise, messages related to all
MMEs will be traced.
Message
Type
Specifies the type of messages to be traced over the S1 interface. You can
set it to Select All to trace all messages or select one or more message
types to trace messages of specified types.
Autosave to
File
A maximum of 12 tracing tasks over the S1 interface can be executed simultaneously, and parameters of
two tasks cannot be identical. You can trace messages related to a maximum of 16 MMEs over one S1
interface

A maximum of 12 tracing tasks over the Uu interface can be executed simultaneously, and parameters of
two tasks cannot be identical. You can trace messages related to a maximum of 11 cells over one Uu
interface.
In the displayed window, expand the trace navigation tree, and double-click S1 Interface
Trace, X2 Interface Trace, or Uu Interface Trace of the Application Layer node to trigger
the corresponding tracing task.
In the S1 Interface Trace dialog box, configure Report Type, Trace Direction, Trace
Inclusion (All MME or Specific MME), and Message Type (recommended value: Default).
Two report types can be selected: Message Report and File Report. In Message Report
mode, the eNodeB sends signaling messages in real time to the U2000 server, which greatly
affects the U2000 performance. In File Report mode, the eNodeB records signaling messages
in a file, and periodically sends the file to the U2000 server, which only slightly affects the
U2000 performance. When this mode is selected, you need to specify Report Period
(Minutes). If the eNodeB has multiple S1 links, you need to select the corresponding S1 link
number to trace. If you need to trace messages over all the links, set Trace Inclusion to ALL
MME. If you select Specific MME, you need to specify the S1 link ID. If there are multiple
ID numbers, separate them using a slash (/). For the description of other fields, see section
1"Signaling Tracing on the Web LMT."
In the X2 Interface Trace dialog box, configure Report Type, Trace Direction, Trace
Inclusion (All eNodeB or Specific eNodeB), and Message Type (recommended value:
Default).
In the Uu Interface Trace dialog box, configure Report Type, Trace Direction, Trace
Inclusion (All Cell or Specific Cell), and Message Type (recommended value: Default).
In the tracing navigation tree, expand the LTE/EPC node, and double-click LTE/EPC Endto-End User Trace to trigger a tracing task.
In the LTE/EPC End-to-End User Trace dialog box, enter the trace name, the IMSI number
of the user to be traced. By default, the tracing task reference number is randomly allocated.
In the NE Settings area, select User-Registered MME.
