Work Experience

August 2008 – April 2009

Travelodge
Housekeeper and Barmaid

Whilst working for Travelodge I had two roles. Firstly I was a housekeeper where my role
included a meticulously thorough clean of an average of 15 rooms per day in preparation for
the arrival of the next guests working towards a strict daily deadline. The second aspect of
my position was to tend the main bar in the evening working shifts. This included running
the bar without assistance and taking care of the dinning area. Cashing up at the end of
service and ensuring the smooth running of the cash-flow and general administration. This
role included dealing with an array of customers including difficult clientele which inevitably
involved using a great deal of interpersonal skills.

December 2007- July 2008

PHQ
Kitchen Assistant

Whilst working with this company my duties included taking customers’ food orders which
were received via telephone and face to face and subsequently preparing the food for
delivery. This included general food hygiene skills and the ability to work to speedy
deadlines with efficiency and accuracy. The role included ensuring the cleanliness of the
kitchen to the high standards expected. The role involved working in close proximity with
colleagues, working as a team and dealing directly with customers.

May 2006-December 2007

Next Retail
Sales Assistant

Whilst working at Next my duties involved dealing directly with customers and assisting
them with any queries or questions in a polite and confident manner. I worked on the shop
floor as well as on the counter processing transactions in the childrens’ wear department. I
was also, from time to time, assigned the task of selling the firm’s mail order directory at
the main entrance. I also had to work in the stock room dealing with incoming products and
selecting stock to be sold on the shop floor.

2006 April-May
PHS All Clear
Company Support Executive

My duties were to review the incoming post and distribute it to the correct departments.
Throughout the day I had to accurately deliver all important documents and perform
photocopying duties, type various documents and generally help out in the office. In the
afternoon I would gather the post from all the departments and prepare it for collection
including use of the franking machine. The tasks I had to perform in this role were set to a
strict deadline and as such I had to prioritise tasks to ensure the delivery of all tasks within
a timely manner.

2004 August
Cheltenham Festival, Cheltenham
Catering and Sales Assistant

When I worked at Cheltenham Festival I learnt lots of practical new skills. Duties included
handling and serving food and drinks, assisting with general kitchen tasks, and cashier
work. The position required integral time management skills which meant a strict
prioritization of my workload. In this position I had to cope with severe time pressures. I
dealt with and diffused difficult customers adequately and with ease.

Hobbies and Interests

In my spare time I enjoy jogging, swimming and cycling. I spend time shopping and
socialising with friends and family. I enjoy reading and surfing the internet.
