How to determine your subscription

Group 1
These rates apply if you are a GP partner and/or primary care provider who
employs or has responsibilities for other healthcare professionals and staff.

Group 2
These rates apply if you are a salaried GP, freelance (locum) or sessional GP
performer who does not employ nor have responsibility for other healthcare
professionals and staff.

Sessions and out-of-hours

Core hours are defined as 8am–6.30pm, Monday to Friday. A session will
normally be defined as a half-day. Where this is inappropriate, a session can
be considered to be a continuous period of work of between 3.5 and 5 hours.

When you are employed for a set number of hours each week, this number
should be divided by four to obtain the sessional equivalent for subscription
calculation.

Out-of-hours only
If all your work is done outside core hours, please see the notes above to
calculate your subscription.

GP with special interest (PCT accredited)

If you are a GP with a special interest, please select the correct subscription
from either Group 1 or Group 2, depending on your circumstances. Please tell
us your specialty.
