The craftsmanship of Frank Llaneza also known as the father of the Cigar industry in Honduras is the
reason behind the existence of the El Rey Del Mundo brand. It combines the Honduran, Dominican
and Nicaraguan blends perfectly creating a brand which is a classic.

El Rey Del Mundo cigars are one of the most expensive and prestigious cigar brands in the world.
Created and named by a businessman from Germany called Emilio in 1848, together with another
cigar company called Sancho Panza, it has changed many hands during its life. Known as king of

Revival

heights under the able leadership of Antonio Allones. The brand again changed hands in 1905 when
Diaz Hermanos bought it and later changed the name of the company to Rey Del Mundo after its
most famous product. The cigars are now produced in Honduras and Nicaragua. Although the cigars
are not the celebrity they once were, they are still considered quite the draw because of their vast
array of flavours and sizes and colours.
The Collection
The Flavours of El Rey Del Mundo Cigars have expanded and diversified into a great number of
variety of shapes, sizes and colours.
1. Choix Supreme cigars: A cigar for any time of the day, this one has its flavour and
smoothness balanced.

Petit Coronas cigars: A full bodied cigar with a woodsy and leathery flavour with a flawless
burn.

The Aroma and Flavour
The cigars are known to be smooth and light and compared to the strong flavours of current brands
this lightness and mildness makes it stand out among connoisseurs.

The earthy Honduran flavour is well present in the cigars along with the added touch of woodsy,
nutty and floral ones. The aroma and the flavour have been described by some enthusiasts as
reminiscent of warm summer days and spring time. On the whole the range has been described as
aromatic.

The construction

The handmade cigars are individually wrapped in Honduran binders and Sumatra or Oscuro
wrappers which are smooth and oily holding the perfect blend of Dominican, Honduran and
Nicaraguan fillers. Connoisseurs describe these cigars as rich and premium with a mild to moderate
taste mostly getting better as they age. The brand has also been rated 91 by the magazine Cigar
Aficionado.
