PROFILE

A professionally qualified Structural/ Setting out/ Site Engineer, good communicator with the unique ability to work
independently or in a team with more than 15 years of experience in design, quantity and cost estimate, setting out,
construction supervision, project management, planning and scheduling, maintenance and operation of civil
infrastructure especially buildings and for about 3 years in Civil Overseer (Assistant Engineer) in government and
Asian Development Bank funded national level project of HMG of Nepal and presently seeking responsibilities in
Structural Engineer.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT

 Successfully performed the Civil/ structural Engineering job with reinforced concrete, prestressed
concrete, steel frame, timber, cavity wall and load bearing masonry in different projects;
 Worked as Consultant, Civil and Structural Engineer for different projects;
 Coordinated and delegated the responsibilities to the staffs, contractors and stakeholders;
 Maintained the contractual obligations as well as engineering standards and specifications;

Structural Engineer: Responsibilities include structural design of different types of buildings coordinating architect,
client, draft technician, Building Council, senior staff or Director depending upon situation etc.

Delmon oilfield Supply and Services, Doha, Qatar (January 2009 – July 2009)

Construction Manager: Plan, direct, coordinate, and budget, through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities
concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual
development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation.
Responsibilities included:
* Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
* Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
* Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
* Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the
owner or developer.
* Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects,
consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
* Obtain all necessary permits and licenses.
* Direct and supervise workers.
* Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project, such as painting or
plumbing.
* Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
* Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
* Develop and implement quality control programs.
* Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
* Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve
matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.

and systems.

* Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being

Gledsdale Associates Ltd, UK (October 2007 – December 2008)

Structural Engineer: Responsibilities include structural design of different types of buildings coordinating architect,
client, draft technician, Building Council, senior staff or Director depending upon situation etc.
Major Projects dealt:
1. 7-storeyed office building in Union Street, London: Worked jointly with Senior Engineer. Major
responsibilities included designing steel frame with composite floor with Multideck 50-V2; concrete slab,
beam and columns for ground floor and basement, pile foundation. The cost of the project: about 10 million
GB Pounds.
2. Aldwick Avenue (3-storeyed flat) in west Sussex: Worked by own. The project was of 2 blocks: one was
with load bearing cavity wall, B/B floor, strip foundation, prestressed concrete floor for 6 families and the
other with combination of steel frame (ground floor) and load bearing (1st and 2nd floor) for 4 families and the
ground floor was for parking purpose. Prestressed concrete floor and foundation pad and combined and
strip depending upon the situation. The cost of the project: about 3 million GB Pounds.
3. High Weald in Sevenoaks (residential building for extension and alteration): Worked jointly with Senior
Engineer. Major responsibilities included designing swimming pool elements, pile foundation, concrete slab
and beam, steel beams and timber joists, splice etc. The cost of the project: about 1.8 million GB Pounds.
4. Rowhill School: Jointly worked with other engineers. Major responsibilities included designing steel frames
for 2-storeyed 2 rotundas with 6m diameters, 2-storeyed 30mx18m main hall and 27mx12 m art gallery.
Composite floor with SMD R-12. Overall Project cost about 12 million GB Pounds.
5. Elliots Road, Lambeth, London: 2 different blocks for altogether 10 families. Major responsibilities
included checking and changing the design of different structural elements (timber joists, steel beams and
posts) where necessary due to lots of architectural changes in the drawing. Design raft foundation.

Ford Recruitment, UK (August 2007 – October 2007)

Setting Out Engineer: Responsibilities included to fix grid lines and grid points, transfer permanent stations to other
places as required, give level for different construction elements as required etc.

TZG Partnership, Croydon, UK (June 2007 – August 2007)

Structural Engineer: Responsibilities include structural design of different types of buildings coordinating architect,
client, draft technician, senior staff or Director depending upon situation etc.
Major Projects dealt:
1. Portal frame extension for lorry workshop, Kent: Worked with senior
engineer and major responsibilities included designing 24 m c/c span portal steel frame in 5 m bays, design
concrete floor, beams, pile foundation etc.
2. Portal steel frame extension for office, Kent: Worked with senior engineer and
major responsibilities included designing 10mx15m steel frame 10 m c/c span in 5 m bay, design concrete
floor, beams, pile foundation etc.
3. Helped to design steel and concrete beams, columns and concrete floor to other
senior engineers’ job. The objective of this sort of system of work was to be familiar with British codes and
system.

• Worked jointly with museologist to prepared Ethnic Exhibition Promotional Project, the detail
planning of the Model Ethnographic Museum of 12 ethnic communities (mini museum) within the Nepal
Tourism Board. The cost of the project about 5 million NRS.
• Designed Administrative Building of the Museum and prepared proposal for Japanese government
funding.
• Prepared Preliminary Master Plan for Nepal National Ethnographic Museum proposed to be
established in 10.174 ha. land in Kathmandu (1997).
