Yourfirststepisempadronamiento.Thisisa
processwhereessentiallyyouinformthecityof
Valenciathatyoulivehere.Herearethegeneral

Inordertoempadronarteyouwillneedto:

Searchthissite

2.accredityourresidence
Accreditingyourpersonisveryeasy,itconsistsof
theoriginalandphotocopyofyourpassportor
nationalidentitycardfromanEU/ECCcountry.
Accreditingyourresidencedependsonyourliving
situation.Ifyouarerentinganapartment,youwill
needtheoriginalandcopyofthelease(withyour
nameandthelandlordsnameonit)aswellasthe
lastmonthspaidbankreceipt(withyourname
andthelandlordsnameonit).Thenamesmust
matchexactlyontheleaseandthereceiptand
yournamemustmatchexactlyasthenameon
yourpassport.
Ifyouhavenotsignedalease(orotherhousing
rentalcontract)pleasecall010(thecityhallphone
number).Theiroperatorscanhelpyoufindthe
rightdocumentstomatchyourpersonalsituation.

Step2:
Onceyouhaveyourcertificadode
empadronamiento,youwillneedtoregisterwith
theNationalPolicestationwith:
1.TwocopiesoftheEX18form(completeand
signed).Youcandownloadthemhere.Agood
trickistofilloutoneformandBEFOREyousignit,
photocopyit.Thensignbothforms.
2.YourPassport/NationalID,(originaland
photocopyofallthepages)
3.AletterstatingthatyouareenrolledatBerklee
(originalandphotocopy).TheBerkleeregistrarcan
providethisletter.Pleaseallow2daysforthe
Registrartoissuetheletter
4.Proofofhealthinsurance(originaland
photocopy).TheRegistrarcanprovidethisalong
withtheenrollmentletter
Atthepolicestationyouwillbeaskedtosigna
declarationthatyouhaveatleast532.21eurosa
monthforthelengthofyourstayinSpain.
Youwillalsobegivenaapplicationfeeformtofill
out,taketoanybank,paytheapplicationfee
(approx.15euros)andreturntothepolicestation
withthereceipt.Whenyoureturnwiththereceipt,
thepolicefinishtheapplicationprocess.Ifyou
haveallyourdocuments,youcanusuallydo
everythinginonemorning.
Thepolicestationislocatedat9BailenStreet,and
theyareopenMondaythroughFridayfrom
9:00amto2:00pm.Thispolicestationisonlya
fewblocksfromcityhall.
Whenyougettothepolicestation,enterinthe
courtyardandgotothedooronyourleft.The
policemanatthedoorwillgiveyouanumber.The
waitingroomisinsidethesamedoor.Theydont

takeappointmentsandthereisoftenaonetotwo
hourwait,sobesuretobringabookorsome
music.
