Academic Standing of Students

5.1 A student who, at the end of the semester, scores a semester grade point average
(SGPA) of 1.50 up to 1.74 both inclusive shall be warned.
5.2 A tudent who at the end of the _rst semester scores SGPA of less than 1.50 shall be
dismissed for academic reasons.
5.3 A student who at the end of the _rst semester scores SGPA of 1.75 and above is
good standing student.
5.4 A student whose CGPA is greater or equal to 2.00 and SGPA is greater than or
equal to 1.75 and less than 2.00 at the end of the second semester shall be warned.
5.5 A student whose SGPA is less than 1.50 or CGPA is less than 1.75 at the end of
second semester shall be dismissed for accadamic resons.
5.6 If a student, who has been put on warning during the _rst semester, fails to mentain
SGPA of 1. 75 and also CGPA of 2.00 during the second semester of accadamic year,
is subjected to dismissal unles you he is put on probation.
5.7 A student who fails to achive a semester GPA of 1.00 at any semester is subjected
to dismissal for good.

6. Second and higher year class student


6.1 A student whose SGPAis greater than or equal to 1.50 but less than 1.75 and/or
whose CGPA is greater than or equal to 1,75 and less than 2.00 at the end of any
semster is good standing student.
6.2 A student whose CGPA is greater or equal to 2.00 and SGPA is greater than or
equal to 1.75 in any semseters shall be warned.
6.3 A student who at the end of any semester scores SGPA of less than 1,50 and/or
whose CGPA is less than 1.75 shall be dismissed for academic reason.
6.4 A student who for the secons consecutive semester scores either an SGPA of less
than 1.75 or falls to maintain a CGPA of 2.00 is subject to dismissal for academic
reasons unless he is put on probation.
6.5 A student who fails to achieve a semester GPA of 1.00 at any semester is subject to
dismissal for good.
6.6 A student is required to have a minimum overall CGPA of 2.00.

6.23 Article 83: Class Attendance


1. A student is required to attend all lecture, laboratory and practical sessions as well as
_eld work of courses, except for courses in which earning of credits through
examination alone is accepted.
2. Except for extenuating circumstances, students are required to maintain a minimum
of 80% attendance to earn credit in the given course. However:
2.1 Some program may demand 100% attendance where such full attendance is
academically indispensable; and
2.2 Academic units may not allow the 20% non-attendance provision for certain portion
of a course, such as laboratory or _eld experiences judged academically indispensable
for the student.
3. A student who has missed more than 20% attendance shall be given a grade of IA
(In-complete Attendance) and be required to provide acceptable reasons for failure to
attend classes.
3.1 If a student's incomplete attendance is proven to have been for valid reasons,
course registration will be cancelled and the student shall be permitted to retake the
course.
3.2 If a student's incomplete attendance was due to reasons that were not valid, the IA
grade shall be changed to an \F" at the end of the sixth week of the next enrolment
in the program.
4. Any student who has not attended classes for four consecutive weeks will have to
withdraw from the program;
5. The course Instructor shall be responsible for the follow up of class attendance his
students.
