The Oretronic III TMD has a microprocessorbased control unit that automates system
setup and calibration. The operator interface
provides easy-to-read indicators and has a
touch panel keypad designed to simplify
setup and system maintenance.

8. RESET When pressed, resets an
alarm by de-energizing alarm output and
resetting coast count display.
Lamp Indicators
1. ALARM Red lamp on indicates
that tramp has been detected and that
the alarm output is activated.
2. BYPASS Amber lamp on indicates
that the detector has been manually bypassed. The detector operates normally
except Alarm and Time Delay outputs are
deactivated.

MENU STRUCTURE
The operator interface is based on a menu structure that
guides you through TMD setup and calibration. The menu
structure has five "high-level" menus, shown in the eightcharacter alphanumeric display, that indicate the operating
mode and status of the TMD.
Within the setup and calibrate high-level menus are the individual parameters and settings that define how your TMD is
to operate. The following shows the TMD menu tree.

Belt Clip Detector - The sensitivity of the Oretronic III
is momentarily reduced while metallic splices or chips
pass through the head.
High Pile Detector - A switch activates the alarm or
shuts down the conveyor when the transmitter coil
swings away as a result of impact by material.
Beacon and Horn - Alarms when metal is detected.
Tramp Metal Markers - A liquid or flag drop marker
can be used to identify location of tramp metal in the
burden.
Remote Display - All operating functions can be
performed from a remote display identical to the one
on the control unit.
Speed Sensor - Can be added for optional performance on variable speed belts. Also provides accurate
belt coast determination.
