GSAFETY WARNINGS

These safety warnings must be read and understood before the instrument is used.

This instrument must only be used by suitably trained and competent persons.
If the ground/earth in the socket outlet being used to energise the DLRO200/600 cannot be relied upon, the
instrument must be connected to a reliable earth/ground via the large green and yellow terminal on the left
hand side of the instrument. If no ground/earth is present, DLRO200/600 will not carry out any tests.

Circuits must be de-energised and discharged before testing.

The DLRO200/600 must only be used on dead systems. If the item under test has a voltage upon it greater
than 10 volts a.c. peak or d.c. with reference to ground the DLRO200/600 will indicate the presence of the
voltage and prevent any tests being carried out.

Testing inductive circuits can be hazardous.

The DLRO200/600 is a high power instrument, with a maximum power output of 1 kW, designed for testing
resistive loads. It must NOT be used to test inductive loads.

This product is not intrinsically safe. Do not use in an explosive atmosphere.

OPTIONS. This menu contains options to
turn MEMORY on or off, to set PASSBANDS,
to SET the real time CLOCK, to DELETE
stored data, and to RETRIEVE stored data.

SIMPLE OPERATION GUIDE

1.

Connect the DLRO200/600 to a suitable power

supply.
The DLRO200-115 should only be connected to a
supply of 100 - 130 V.

5.

If NORMAL or CONTINUOUS mode was

selected, connect all four test leads and press
the TEST button. The TEST status lamp will
illuminate while current is flowing. In NORMAL
mode DLRO200/600 will complete a
measurement and stop. In CONTINUOUS mode
will maintain a test current flow and repeat
measurements approximately every 2 seconds
until the TEST button is pressed to stop the test,
or until the DLRO200/600 overheats. To repeat
a measurement, press the TEST button again.

6.

In AUTOMATIC mode connect the current leads

and press the TEST button. The status lamp
flashes to show that the measurement circuit is
armed. Make contact with the voltage sense
leads and a measurement will be made
automatically. To repeat a measurement, break
and remake contact with the voltage sense
leads.

7.

At any time when a test is running, the test may

be aborted by pressing the TEST button.

The DLRO200 may be connected to a supply range

of 100 - 265 V, 50/60 Hz.
The DLRO600 allows full output current over
the supply range of 207 - 265 V, 50/60 Hz. A
supply below this voltage will reduce the
maximum output current accordingly

3.

4.

Ensure the DLRO200/600 is grounded. If there

is any doubt that the ground via the power
supply cord is adequate, a safety terminal is
provided on the side of the instrument which
should be connected to a known good ground.
If no ground is present, DLRO200/600 will
refuse to perform any tests.
Switch on using the power switch on the left
side of the instrument case. The display will
show the firmware version followed by
CALIBRATED or NOT CALIBRATED as
appropriate.
When the main screen appears as shown
overleaf, use the two axis paddle to select:
TEST to choose between NORMAL (NORM),
AUTOMATIC (AUTO) or CONTINUOUS
(CONT) test mode.
CURRENT to select the desired test current
and, optionally, to set a maximum permitted
test current.
