A great utility for the team

with updated resources.
I especially liked the quiz
section that tests the
users understanding on an
employment issue. I would
definitely recommend the
app to others.

Company Details
HE Create and Consult (HE C&C)
is part of the HardingEvans Group
whose core activity is the provision
of legal services to a client base

HE Create and Consult was formed with the
specific aim to develop innovative service delivery
solutions. HE C&C delivers those solutions not

The app was developed as part of a strategic
review into how law firms deliver, and clients
buy employment law and HR advice services.
A key feature is the apps delivery of immediate,
plain English help and know how in a variety
of formats including audio, video and text.
Its purpose is to assist managers and those
responsible for dealing with employees
in a variety of employment matters.
HardingEvans Solicitors will use the app as
they have recognised that it will deliver on
part of their strategic objective, to deliver
online legal and additional advice to their
employment clients through new technologies.

We believe this project demonstrates how

collaboration between the academic and
commercial sectors can benefit SMEs such
as ours. Without the support from CEMAS
and the associated funding we would not
have been able to provide this technology.
The engagement with CEMAS has given
us the ability to use their knowledge and
experience to benefit our business,
and resulted in a dynamic product offering.
Our thanks go out to all involved.

We have enjoyed working closely with

CEMAS, collaborating our thoughts and ideas.
CEMAS have supported us from the beginning
of the process from applying for the funding
to building the app throughout. The project
has ended, the support has not. Clayton and
Stevan have provided the support we needed
and contributed significantly to its success.
Joy Phillips, Practice Director, HE C&C

It was an absolute pleasure working with Joy,

Sarah and the rest of the HE C&C team on
the development of the app. HR in Hand is
a unique training application and a new
way for HE C&C to communicate with both
existing and potential clients. It provides
managers and those responsible for dealing
with employees with a vital source of up to
date information that is presented in a range
of formats. Im thrilled that CEMAS were able
to play a key role in the production of HR in
Hand and Im sure it will be an invaluable tool
for many organisations.
Clayton Jones, Programme Manager, CEMAS

Developing the HR in Hand app for HE C&C

was an interesting project to undertake,
especially for the wealth of knowledge
the app was making available to the user.
It was a project where the user experience
was key, requiring a level of creative and
innovative thinking in how best to engage the
user in a meaningful way. The key features of
guides and checklists allow the app to act as a
companion piece to any working environment.
Working with HE C&C on this app has been
an absolute pleasure, and with the formation
of a dedicated team the app is sure to go
from strength to strength.
Stevan Burrows, Graduate Programmer, CEMAS
