Water Wash System Pre-Commissioning

GENERAL GUIDELINES
Purpose/Scope
This work package encompasses all

requirements for commissioning, both


mechanically and electrically, the Water
Wash System. The system starts at the
Water Wash Cart located on the auxiliary
skid and ends at the inlet spray nozzles.
Precautions
Personnel working with, on, or around the Water Wash
System should review appropriate MSDS sheets for
cleaning compound used, observe all applicable safety
guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective
equipment.
When entering inlet plenum, do not wear loose articles
such as pens, chains, tools, etc.

temperatures of gas turbine engine are less than 200 F.
Drain lines if freezing weather is anticipated.

MECHANICAL CHECKS
1.

Verify system is installed as per F&ID.

2.

Check water wash reservoir, filters, and piping for cleanliness; flush where required
with demineralized water.

3.

Check instrument air piping for cleanliness; blow down as required.

4.

Flush/blow down main unit line to off-line wash nozzles.

5.

Verify nozzles are not plugged and are in proper position.

6.

Drain any water remaining in line, as required.

7.

Insert copy of demineralized water analysis report in this section.


ELECTRICAL CHECKS

8.

Inspect for visible damage to any cable or termination.

9.

Check for adequate distance between power, control, and instrument cables.

10.

Check conductor connections at both ends; identification labels should be attached


to each conductor.

11.

Verify size and current capacity of conductors is suitable for application.

12.

Check means of cable protection against mechanical damage at points where cables
leave cable trays or enter package.

13.

Check grounding connections.

Perform point-to-point checks using packaged supplied interconnect drawings.


Highlight drawing accordingly and insert signed copy in this section.

Check and verify operation of analog and discrete readouts.
