Teaching has to be done keeping in mind the goals & objectives to be achieved by medical
(Vaidyakiya) student.
AIMS :The aim of teaching P.G. students in Stri-Rog & Prasuti (Obstetrics & Gynecology) is that
1. He / She acquire thorough knowledge of ancient science which includes Basic principles,
Stri vishishta Sharir Rachana, Kriya, & Vikriti (Pathophysiology) & gain ability to apply &
manage optimally common conditions of it.
2. He/She shal update his / her knowledge with modern & advance techniques.
OBJECTIVES:At the end of course student shall be able to
a. Outline the Stri-Vishishta Sharira Rachana, Kriya & Vikruti (Pathophysiology) & common
condition affecting it.
b. Detect Prakrut Sagarbhavastha, Prasav, Sutika (Puerperium) & to manage the problems.
c. Achieve the aim of ayurveda of Shreyas Praja by decreasing maternal mortality &
mobidity.
d. Identification

During the study period a semiannual assessment report is to be forwarded by guide


through HOD & principal to MUHS about the observed progress. Student should not be allowed to
appear for examination if found not satisfactory by local academic committee.
At the end of the course student shall be able to
1) Recognition of early pregnancy complication & prompt management of it, considering aim
Paripurnatwaya & Anupghtaya of Garbhini Parichary e.g. Chhardi, Garbhastrav,
Garbhapat, Garbhashayetar Garbhadharana, Raktagulma, Bahuapatyata, Garbhajanya
Vishamayata, Mukhastha Apara, Atigarbhodak, Garbhodak Nunata, Kalatit Prasav etc.
2) Manage pregnancy complicated by medical , surgical or gyunaecoogical diseases with
speciality approach & recent advaces in medical & surgical management e.g. Garbhini
Pandu, Garbhini Hridroga, Garbhini Prames, Shwas, Mutrakrucchrata, Garbhashyastha
Granthi, Antaphalastha Granthi, Garbhashyamukharbuda, Yoni- bhransha etc.
3) Identify garbha Vyapad e.g. Upavishtak, Leenagarbha, Mrutagarbha, Garbhastrav & its
skilful management.
4) He/she should read & interpret imaging techniques e.g. CTG, HSG, USG.
5) Know PNDT act & its implementation, MTP Act, Adoption Law,
6) Use available diagnostic modalities & plan safe deliveries in evaluation of the fetal &
maternal health in complicated pregnancy.
7) Thorough knowledge of drugs used in Prasuti Strirog (Obs. & Gynaec) practice including
Prostaglandins, Pharmacognosis & Pharmacotherpeutics of drugs like Oxitocins,
Methylergometrin, Tocolytes etc.
8) Manage labour as per partogram, Obsterrical anaesthesia & analgesia, induction &
Augmentation of labour, Management of Mudhagarbha, Yoni Samvaran, Complication of
Prajanyishyamana Avastha, Prasavottar Raktastracva.
9) Manage Dushprajata & Yonidushti. Identify & recognition of surgical complications.
Decision making techniques & management of it. e.g. Vamadeviya Prasav, Garbha Shanku
Dwara Prasav, Prasavottar Garbhashaya Nirharan, Mudhagarbha Chedan Karma (Role of
distructive surgery), Parivartan (Version), Internal Iliac ligation.
10) Prevent, early detection & management of birth Trauma.
11) Early recognition of congenital malformations in new born & make timely referrals for
surgical corrections.

12) Know basic knowledge of Sahaj Vikruti of Artav- Vaha Srotas & Stana Rogas, Vyadhi
Vyavacched & Shastrakarma dgrChikitsa of Clinical conditions related to Sahaj vikruti &
Sandhan Karma in Strisoga (Reconstructive Surgery).
13) Evaluate & manage Vandyatwa (Infertility) Hetu with Adoption Law (Medico-legerl & Clinical
issues)
14) Prevent, diagnose & manage Artav-vaha srotas Sansargajanya Vyadhi e.g. Phirang,
Upadansha, HIV, HBsAg, VDRL, Ca Cx etc
15) Early diagnosis & management of Granthi & arbuda of Garbhashaya & Stana
16) Have knowledge of selection of cases. Techniques & management of Complications of
minor & major gynaecological procedures e.g. Udarpatanpurvak & Apatyapathamarge
Garbhashaya Nirharana (Abdominal & Vaginal Hysterectomy), Surgical procedures for
Yonibransha & Mahayoni (Genital Prolapse), manage complications like Nadi vrana in
Prathamavarta (VVF,RVF, bladder injuries & their repair).
17) Know advance techniques like screening for genital Arbuda, Cytology, Colposcopy,
Biochemistry support of pelvic organs, Surgical management of genital prolapse.
18) Update with knowledge of chromosomal abnormalities, Ambiguous sex at birth,
Endometriosis, Adenomosis, Hirsutism, PCOD, Repair of genital fistulae.
19) Perform Operative endoscopy, endoscopy, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy.
20) Practice Evidance based management.
