CONFIGURING DEVICENET NETWORK

Previous requirements for configuring device net network:

Hook up Allen Bradley Cable to the PC COM port and to the Device net
Interface (KFD) port.
Device net Interface (KFD) should be plugged into Device Net Scanner
(SLC) through the 5 pin green connector.
Device net Interface should be powered up. Check the position of the switch
located on one side of the Interface (set up on the upper position).
Follow these steps in order to get the device net network running:
SLC must be in PROG Mode.
Start RsLinx. The RsLinx main widow will open.

From the Communications menu, select Configure Drivers as shown

above. The following window will appear (this screen shoot may change
from yours depending on the drivers you had configured before in RsLinx).
Stop all the drivers showed up on the Configured Drivers by selecting them
and pressing on Stop.

From Available Driver Types pull down list select DeviceNet Drivers.

Click on Add New. You will see the following choices.

Select the Allen Bradley 1770-KFD.The Driver Configuration window will

appear. Select the COM Port number your PC is using for communicating
and click OK.

The software will take a few seconds to configure the driver. When it is done
the following prompt will appear.

Select the default number name 1770-KFD-1 and click on OK.

Close RsLinx.
You will use the driver you just configured to browse and configure the device
net network with RsNetWorx for DeviceNet.
From the CD I sent you open RsNetWorx File *.dnt (fms-200_slc_micro_12-4-5-EMPTY-6-11-8_modular.dnt)
From Network menu select On Line and press Accept.

RsNetWorx will start browsing the network.

Once you are connected in Online, from Network menu select Download
to Network.

Press OK and downloading will start.

Once downloading is done and you do not get any icon on any device net
network devices (Scanner, DNI module and I/O modules) you can go offline
and place the SLC in RUN Mode.
Once downloading is done and you get an icon on the Scanner device, go
see help or Symbol Legend. Could be possible that the Scanner Node
does not match with the node address been setup on the last downloading.
Therefore, from Tools menu select Node Commissioning.

Press Browse on the window showed up below.

From the new window select 1770-KFD-1 DeviceNet Driver (This window
may be different to yours depending on the drivers you had configured
before on the RsLinx)

When selecting 1770-KFD-1 Driver all devices connected on the network are
displayed on the right side of the window. Select 1747-Scanner Module and
press OK.

On the new window appeared press Browse. After a few seconds the field
for entering the new Node Address is enabled. Type in the new Node
Address (The Scanner Module is always setup as Node Address 0 or 1,
therefore type in 1 since the *dnt file was configured as 0 and that could be
the reason why they mismatch) and press Apply.

Download again the Network Configuration and Save Changes.

Disconnect from OnLine
Place the SLC in RUN Mode.

Verify whether after placing SLC in Run Mode you get or not any alarm
code on the Scanner Display or any of the Leds (Module and Net) on the
Scanner is flashing red or green.
Check the meaning of the Alarm Code on the Troubleshooting (Chapter 7
of the DeviceNetScanner.pdf file) on the CD.
