George Washington ordered the creation of Springfield Armory® in 1777

to store revolutionary ammunition and gun carriages.

In 1794 the armory began the manufacture of muskets for a young country.
For the next 150 years, Springfield Armory® functioned as a supplier for every
major American conflict as well as a “think tank” for new firearm concepts. In
1968, citing budgetary concerns, the U.S. Government closed Springfield
Armory®. Now, the walls of Springfield Armory® would house historians,
paying homage to the past rather than those with an eye to the future…until
1974, when a passionate family by the name of Reese would rescue not only the
name “Springfield Armory®,” but the philosophy that drove it for centuries.

With reverence for the legacy of the Armory, the Reese family resurrected the
most historically significant designs produced by The Armory- M1 Garand,
1911-A1, M14 –and fueled by the same obsession for improved manufacturing
techniques and cutting edge design that inspired the likes of John C. Garand,
and John Browning, they ’ve continued to develop products that are loyal to
Springfield Armory’s heritage while ensuring The Armory’s place in the
progression of American firearms.

Making the decision between concealability and handling is an age old problem
for many firearm enthusiasts. Sacrificing one thing to achieve another.

several types of concealable pistols and accessories without compromising

Springfield Armory® has created the smallest, most concealable 1911-A1
available: The Enhanced Micro Pistol – EMP®.

Importantly, you can’t reduce the outer dimensions of a pistol without going
after the inner workings, too. Altogether we had to re -engineer 15 different
parts. The result was not just a new gun, but a new class of gun – the
short-action 1911-A1. Since the hard part is out of the way, other gun
makers will surely copy it. But when you see their copies that look almost like a
Springfield EMP®, you’ll say to yourself, “Hey, that looks almost like a
Springfield EMP®.” … It’s great to be first.

Our 3.5” Ultra Compact pistol comes with all the loaded features you have
come to recognize in a Springfield pistol. All of our pistols under 5” come
equipped with ramped, fully supported barrels. Not all 1911-A1

Our tribute to the 1911-A1 that started it all, the Springfield Armory® GI 45
1911-A1 single-stack models are built with a forged frame, slide and barrel.
Single-stack models feature low-profile military sights, a standard magazine well,
spur hammer, standard ejection port, arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop,
vertical slide serrations, hardwood U.S. grips, and titanium firing pin.

In other words, you won’t see these guns on blue velvet in glass cases. They’re either
in the holster or in your hand doing their job.

At Springfield Custom™ our pistolsmiths do things the old way...the old World
way, like individually hand fitting every major component in your commissioned
dream gun. Your custom packages are built from scratch per your order; this
insures that you, the customer, determines the features and finishes that you
require on your personalized project such as barrel length, sights, caliber, frame
size, metalwork, etc.

We are very proud of the fact that we are the only major custom builder that
will build a pistol to the customers exacting specs if one of our packages does not
happen to meet your design requirements. You, the customer, can spec every
component that goes into your project, if so desired.

Our custom pistolsmiths have over 115 combined years of experience building
custom pistols in this very shop; many of whom are distinguished members of the
American Pistolsmiths Guild. Our products are used by professionals all over
the world in military and law enforcement groups, some large, some small, and
some we can’t mention. Our competition pistols have been used to win national and
world championships in every major pistol discipline by such greats as the
legendary Rob Leatham, 21-time USPSA National Champion, 5-time IPSC World
Champion, and 7-time NRA Bianchi Cup Champion, John Farley, Roger Willis, and
the late Alan Fulford, just to name a few.

 1907-2007 CAMP PERRY CENTENNIAL
In January 1907, a proposal from the Ohio Rifle Association to make Camp Perry the home of the
National Matches was accepted by the National Board for the Promotion of Rifle Practice
Executive Committee (the NBPRP is a predecessor organization to the CMP), which asked the
Department of War to transfer the matches to the new Ohio State Rifle Range. The range site was
named Camp Perry in honor of Commodore Oliver Perry, whose 1813 sea victory over the British
took place in Lake Erie just offshore from the ranges. The 2007 National Matches celebrated
100 years of National Matches at Camp Perry.

In honor of the 100 year Camp Perry celebration, Springfield Armory® will introduce
2 new limited edition firearms.

A 1911-A1 pistol and M-14/M1A™ rifle equipped with all of the features you would expect from a
firearm capable of competing in the National Matches. The pistol and rifle come with tasteful
embellishments and engraving as shown in the photographs. The quantity of pistols and rifles will
be very limited. Only 500 pistols and 500 rifles will be produced which means these firearms are
sure to become collectible heirlooms for generations to come. Each pistol and rifle come supplied
with a special carry case and certificate of authenticity. The 1911-A1 pistol and M1A™ rifle are
sold separately.

The first 25 pistols and 25 rifles will be sold as matching sets with matching serial numbers.

A significant contribution to the new NRA Shooting Competitions and National Championships
