Intended Use

The device is used to display operating and error measures of monitored power supply systems of
medically used areas according to IEC 60364-7-710 / DIN VDE 0100-710 (VDE 0100 Part
710):2002-11 (e.g. device type SPR/ILT/UEI-710) and other devices from the HospEC system. Further, the device also enables triggering of test functions of connected IT network monitoring devices
(e.g. device type ILT/UEI-710).
Communication takes place via the CAN bus. Via an additional printed circuit board, digital signals
can also be directly registered and analysed by external systems or devices from the HospEC system.

Functions

2.1

Display of operating and error messages

The signals are emitted by an acoustic transducer, visually with LEDs and as a full graphic display.
The operating states are registered by the CAN bus, or via an additional printed circuit board.
The device can be adjusted to the respective project with any texts for plain text display via the menu
with preset default texts or via a PC parameter setting program. A large backlit full graphic display is
used for clear display of the information.
The expected operating states are assigned to 3 signalling levels: "Operation", "Warning" and
"Fault". Up to 200 different operating states can be displayed. The messages are output as 4-line
text. This message text can be made up from a list of up to 200 self-edited single line texts.
If several BMTI4 devices are used, the devices can monitor each other, failure of the device is then
signalled by the other BMTI4 devices.

2.2

Test function

The test function of connected IT network monitoring devices (device type ILT/UEI-710) can be
triggered at the BMTI4. Communication with devices from the HospEC system takes place via the
CAN bus. External devices can be placed in test mode via the relay output of the additional printed
circuit board.

Fault-free operation

If no error messages are queued, the green LED lights up and "Ready for Service" appears in the
display.
5.3

Warnings and fault messages meaning of the LED displays

A warning message deletes the green LED and the yellow LED flash. A horn tone sounds at the
same time. The tone level and interval length can be defined using the PC parameter setting software. If the message is acknowledged, the horn sound is muted and the yellow LED switches to continuously lit.
A fault message is the highest signalling / message level. It deletes the yellow LED, the red LED
starts to flash and the horn sounds. The parameters for the type of horn sound can be set as for the
warning message. The acknowledgement deletes the horn signal and the red LED lights up continuously. Apart from the LED display and horn sound, the corresponding text messages are also output
on the display.
5.4

Acoustic signals

All acoustic messages can be acknowledged using the lamp test/acknowledge key, i.e. the horn is
switched off. This key can also be used to test the function of the LEDs and the horn in fault-free operation. As long as this key is pressed, all LEDs light up and the horn sounds.
