Do You Invest According to Your Age?

Last month, I met a young guy who told me that
his investments are divided. He said, Sixty percent of my
investments are in the stock market and 40 percent are in
bonds.
I looked at his youthful face and asked myself, Why
is this guywho is probably in his 30sinvesting like he
was in his 60s?
So I asked a few more questions. I learned the guy
was slowly paying off his house (check). He has term
insurance (check). He has health insurance (check). He has
an emergency fund in the bank worth three to six months
of his salary (check).
Man, this guy knew his chops. So I told him, If youre
30 years old, and you really dont plan to use your money
for the next 10 years, and you have a good cashflow (salary)
coming in every month to take off your expenses, why not
invest 90 percent of your money into the stock market?
He looked at me, eyes bulging, his mouth agape.
I continued, But you do this on one other condition.
Can you stomach the stock market volatility, sometimes
losing 20 percent or 30 percent of your money on paper
during market crashes, knowing youre there for a longhaul anyway?
He remained silent, looked at the floor, and finally
shook his head.
Ahhh. Now, I understood why he invested the way
he did.
I told him to keep doing what he was doing and be
happy.
To each his own. Different strokes for different folks.
But let me explain my investing preference: When
youre the young guy I described above, I think you should
invest more in the stock marketso that you increase the
size of your future Retirement Fund. But my rule is that you
only invest according to the amount where you can have a
good nights sleep at night. And Im happy he was aware of
his risk appetite. And he followed it.
Perhaps Im a minority. I can sleep soundly even
if I have invested 95 percent of my savings in the stock

Stocks Update

marketand yes, I can sleep soundly at night even during

crashes where 30 percent or even 40 percent of my money
disappears on paperbecause I know its all temporary.
But when someone hits 60 or 70 or 80 years old,
thats the time he may need to set aside at least 20 percent
to 50 percent in fixed assets like bonds or even in time
deposit. When a person reaches retirement and no longer
has a salary, he may need cash at anytime for bigger
emergencies.
On this topic, I always encourage older people not
to give-up their active incomeif at all possible. Get a
part-time job. Get a consultancy. I encourage them, Find
a way to earn money in your old age. Itll be fun. And you
keep fit and healthy too.
Invest according to your age.
Happy investing!

May your dreams come true,

Bo Sanchez

THERES SO MUCH HAPPENING:

Stock Alert Recap
By Mike Vias

In the last how many weeks, we have issued several Stock Alerts more frequently than before. This is caused
by the quick developments in our market in the recent weeks, affecting prices and eventually affecting our SAM
Stocks. Thus, in this issue, I would like to give you a recap on some of these Stock Alerts to give you stable footing
on where we are now for our SAM investment and our market.
l

SELL BDO (Nov. 11, 2014)

Last November, we came out with a Sell Alert for BDO as it hit our Target
Price of P107. This prompted the exit of BDO from our SAM Stocks List.
HOLD CEB (Jan. 9, 2015), BUY CEB (Jan. 23, 2015), Keep Buying CEB
(Feb. 16)
Due to the Civil Aeronautics Board case of CEB, we initially came out with the
HOLD signal. However, last January 23, we adjusted the Buy-Below Price to
have a more conservative stance in buying CEB. The new Buy-Below Price is P124.80. Current prices (as of
this writing), has gone down below P90, enabling us to continue buying.
BUY FGEN (Jan. 22, 2015), Keep Buying FGEN (Feb. 16, 2015)
The newest addition to the SAM Stock List came last January 22, 2015 with a Buy Alert for
FGEN. It continues to be under Buy-Below Prices, allowing us to buy at lower prices.

SELL 50 Percent of LRI (Jan. 30, 2015), HOLD LRI (Feb. 14, 2015)
The long wait for our sleeping cement giant, LRI, ended last January when
it went as high as P12. Thus, we issued a conservative option of selling 50
percent of your LRI shares to lock in profits. However, since then it has gone
down again. This may take a while again before it goes back up. Therefore, to
be more conservative we came out with a recommendation last Valentines day to hold on to this stock,
but dont add anymore.

If Your Stocks Are Huge, Sell Some (Feb. 1, 2015)

Last February 1, we advised our long-time TRC investors who have been investing for the past years (we
called them Legends) to sell 30-50 percent of their portfolio to lock-in profits and be more conservative
given possible dips at that time. As for the newer investors (we called them Rookies), we advised them to
continue investing regularly buying SAM Stocks that are under the Buy-Below Price.
For Those Who Sold Some, Start Deploying Slowly (Feb. 10, 2015), Start Deploying Quicker (Feb.
16, 2015)
Those who sold 30-50 percent of the portfolio were given a go signal to begin buying again in our SAM
Stocks that are under their Buy Below-Price. However, instead of dividing your cash from the sale into six,
Bro. Bo advised us later on to divide it by three parts instead and use each part to begin buying shares.
Thus, the deployment of cash is quicker to participate in possible market growth moving forward.

Stocks Update

Volume 6, No. 4

February 2015

For those who are just beginning to invest, continue buying every month or quarter the SAM Stocks you
are accumulating, as long as they are under their Buy-Below Prices. Doing this will enable you to costaverage effectively, setting you up for good returns over the long term.
HOLD EEI (Feb. 16, 2015)
EEI continues to be a fantastic company with lots of pending projects in the Middle East.
This keeps their long-term growth intact. However, compared to our other SAM Stocks, EEI
seems to be slower in its ascent and other SAM Stocks may rise quicker. Thus, we advised
investors to focus your money in investing to our other SAM Stocks that are under the BuyBelow Price.
HOLD AP (Feb. 17, 2015)
AP has gone up recently, going up as high as P45 (as of this writing). However, the
companys move to expand the capacity of its Greenfield Power Plants will boost
its profitability and thus raising the Target Price to P47.60. This new TP will also
increase our Buy-Below Price at P41.40. Given these and the current market price
of AP (as of this writing trading around P44), AP is currently on a HOLD status.

I hope this run-down of recent Stock Alerts gives you a good idea where weve been and where we are now
in terms of our SAM Portfolio of recommended stocks. I hope this enables you to follow along and make necessary
adjustments. I also hope this enlightens and guides you in your investing.
Happy investing!

2014 Top Winners of TrulyRichClubs Stocks

If you followed our Stock Recommendations in the past, youd have enjoyed these earnings. Were reposting
this again to encourage you to be faithful to your monthly investments today for the stocks we recommend above.
Never give up. And youll have great winners 10 to 20 years from now!
Note: The percentage returns cannot be compared between the two tables below. The All Time Winners table
does not take into consideration a cost-averaging method. The percentage return is only from a buy-and-hold
strategy. The 2014 Table however integrates a cost-averaging method throughout the months it was under the
Buy-Below.
