and practice well keep patience with crypt problem until u get answer it may
take 2-3 hr first time to solve and understand take your time dont think dnt
get frustrated that while solving you taking much time it happens for first
time that you may take even whole day its ok your priority is to get in depth
and understand how to hit and trial values after solving paper look in websites

crypts problem I will give few steps and would explain in more better manner

Coming to Crypt arithmetic
See guys u have seen in m4maths.com or cryptarithmetic.in many crypts are
given to solve but its not right approach to solve them because if you notice in
elitmus there are three questions given with the crypt puzzle these questions
are associated with your solution only

So first step whenever first time you try to solve crypt look back to previous
year paper of elitmus

Mene upar sirf ye hi kyu use kiya hai u must be thinking
Crypt me hare k alphabet ka ek hi value hota hai
Ex: a=1 so b!= 1 means B ka value and A ka value same nahi hoga and ye
rule A ya B me hi nahi sabhi letters me apply hoga
Upar jo mene odd no ka funda bataya hai
Wo apko crypt me check karna hota hai

Toh is ko dekhte hai apke dmag me ye ana chaiye ki ha A ka value 5 hona
chaiye and B ka value koi bhi odd no hona chaiye
Now mene odd no . 1,3,5,7,9 hi kyu liya hai
Because digit 0to9 hi hote hai and isme odd no 1 ,3,5,7,9 hi hai
Toh ab mjhe AxB =A me hit and trial use karna hai

Friends crypt is totally Hit and trial koi method nahi hai particular its just
u have to trouble your mind with hit and trial ab ye apko sochna hai ki
mjhe number ko kis tarah set karna hai ki woe k hi value ho alphabet ki
and repeat na ho so you have to check with
Another important think dont directly start with solving crypt
first read all three question in your exam
and if you practicing at home as a beginner then first try to solve previous
year paper and from their first read those three question dont directly
jump on solving crypt you may analyse that question and start thinking
how I achieve this answer if value of A is asked and options 3,7,9,1 are
given den its really easy because A can be 3,7,9,1 only
so half of your hit and trial solved here u got four number to hit and trial
with A like this you should think while looking in to questions what ever it
comes to you
another important rule or sequence u can see

now I give a solution and make you understand one crypt problem
basically I ll give you the approach which you can use rest you find your
own way to start crypt
yester day 12 oct 2014 exam I got this crypt

First har ek multiply ko alag alag kardo means
Set 1-ABW x A = HXRF
Set 2-ABWxP=FXWX
Set 3- ABWxB=WWHH
Friends this I done because now you have three sets and if you choose any
of set you will get any of single correct value your whole crypt is done
Set 1 ex I showed below look

Now see if you try to solve this

Ab apko hit and trial dalna hai isme ki

W= 3 a=4 : F= 12 hai so F is two digit number so hum 12 ka 2 lange yaani

unit digit hamesha lena hai and 1 hamesha ya koi bhi tens digit carry ho
jata hai next me,next me means ab AxB +1(carry) = R
Aise karte karte
AxA = HX aa rha hai toh number aise plugin kar ne hai jisse koi bhi
number repeat na ho ..
Jab bhi value lena start karo ya toh
W=2 and A=3 se hit and trial lo
Ya W= 9 and A=8 coz 9,8 will cause carry 7 as 9x2= 72 ,7 is in tens place

First crypt ko aise divide kardo as I have divided above in three

parts
U need to pick any one set now you will think how you will pick that
set which will give you answer fast and save your time also
After dividing in three parts start reading the three of questions
what they asking
Suppose they ask value of A now you to pick that set where max
number of A is been used or if ques is not like this it can be any and
u dnt knw any approach look to any three of set and see which
alphabet is used more in each set

Is set me W teen bar repeat hua toh apko kuch bhi agar nahi pata
kaise start karna hai solve karna toh ye method bhi soch sakte ho
kyu ki W ka value apko mil gya so u left with B,A ,H and if you solve
this set fir aap jo main crypt hai usme ye values daal ke fir dekhna
hai ki ab kaun kaun se value generate ho sakta hai in value ko use
karke and you will solve whole crypt like this
When I started to solve above question
I looked into question and read each and every question coz our
moto is to get solution of those three question
I read third ques which says
W+W+H+H ???
So isko dekhte hi u have to see in crypt where this value is their so
looking in crypt problem

Toh offcourse hai
First wxb=h dekhoge
Fir again u see
Bxb=h
Now start thinking
Ki bxw=h and bxb =h hai
So aise kaunse number aane chaiye ki ye do condition satisfy ho jaye
offcourse hit and trial hi use karna hai friends every body knws 1 to
9 table coz we have to use this only
Isnt simple

First u may be thinking ohh
2x2=4( Bxb=h) so B can be 2
But if you apply this 2 in
Bxw=H u may not get solution coz condition is not satisfying
So try to find that condition think your self it can be like this
B=7,W=3

2 carry to BxB =H
And H=1 for Bxw
Means Bxw=h
7x3=1 (2 carry ) (7x3=21)one is used as value of H and 2 is
used as carry for next multiplication
Ab 2 carry hua hai toh now you have to think with 2 carry wat
combination of number I can use to get value of H exactly u got in
Bxw
Means now you have to think H=1 kaise aayegi BxB and B value
should not get change
So friends above u have used B=7
Now here also in BxB =7x7 means 49 +2(carry)=51 see in unit digit
you got 1 which is exactly H=1 is in Bxw=h (h=1)
And 5 is carry forward to next multiplication
So you satis fied both condtion well and you got answer
Now again
W=3 u know
Now multiplying AxB +5(carry)=ww
Means AxB multiply aisa hona chaiye ki carry 5 add karke you
should get ans as two digit with same value same value means WW =
2 digit number like (11,22,33,44)
Like this.
Suppose A=2 but B=7
7x2=14+5=19 so its not satisfying equation coz we need WW means
same digits..
So take A=4 ,B=7
AxB=7x4=28 +5(carry) this carry you got from previous
multiplication that is 7x7+2=51
5 carry above hua AxB me jaise hum normally multiply karte hi hai
and carry hote hai numbers waise hi .
Now come to eqn
7x4+5=28+5=33
Hey you got answer WW=33 and

W value you used in first multiplication remember (B=7,W=3)

Also satisfies
Now u got each individual value of each alphabet in set 3
Lets conclude this value
A=4,H=1,B=7,W=3
And your third ques says
W+W+H+H ??
You have value of W and H
Plugin those value here
3+3+1+1 = 8
You solved your 1 question in problem solving and now put these
values in main crypt problem
And den start thinking now what all values you can find by using
these value
Remember friends carry generation is also important in this
After solving set one
When you apply these value in main crypt and you see this

R +X=7 (this R+X comes wen u done with multiplication part and u
add as u do in normal multiplication)
So think that it is originally 17
Why wen ever we adding it must have carry either 2 or 1 , 2 in case
wen 9 number is used
So while doing addition keep this thought in mind ohh it can be
addition and unit place in above case is 7 and tens place is 1 so tens
place always get carried forward to next multiplication
Now plugin these value in crypt

P=6,R=9
